Question about JVC AV-36890 36" TV
I have replaced the tuner with a JVC part. Picture and sound are great then suddenly goes blue and squeals. If the cable line is moved/wiggled, the picture and sounds will return to normal. All the cable line has been replaced as well. Had a in home repairman tell me it was the tuner....but of course, it did not fix it.
Your help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Offhand, I suspect that no replacement part would be needed. Initially, the blue display is significant, it tells us that there is no "intelligent" signal to be processed by the video board and therefore goes into "video mute" mode. Your other post "squeals" + cable line moved/wiggled = picture & sound normal but all cable line replaced could possibly indicate that the connectors/jack might be the issue or the board itself. Pls have the reverse of the PCBs (boards checked for loose or cold solder). Additionally, it might also help to verify that the boards are not loose or overly tightened causing bottom grounding, flexing or warping.
Hope that this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
