My nikon Coolpix 4600 will not record sound along with video

My camera takes beautiful pictures and can record movies, the only downfall is that with the movies, it does not record any sound. I've even recorded me yelling at the top of my lungs, and still.... no sound. I've asked a few people with simliar cameras and they said that their cameras do not have this problem and just "record the sound with the movie automatically". Can anybody help me fix this problem?? It may be more simple than I orginally thought. Thank you! -Creampuff

Actually, I have a 4600 too, and I'm pretty sure it says in the manual that the 4600 does not record sound, only video. You have to get the next model up in order to get sound as well. Sorry.

Sounds like it could be a simple case of bad connection on the microphone or it's wiring. Or going the other way it could be a bad audio circuit on the printed circuit board. It's an electret mic so it's even possible it's died too. Sounds like a trip to the doctor if you aren't technically minded.

L820: Display dead in most functions, but not all

I would hope you have tried removing the battery, charging it and replacing it first already. The next thing I would try is to set the camera to factory default options.

Display dead on most functions, but not all

The display is ALWAYS dead as long as a cable is attached. To make it work again disconnect the came and cycle power on the camera.

I can't hear any sound off my camera videos

Hello,

The Nikon Coolpix 4600 does not record any audio with the video.
This is surprising and not very useful.

The Coolpix 5600 does and the 4600 uses the same body, that is why it has microphone holes on the top.

Problems taking pictures

Typically when that happens your auto focus sensor has become dirty and it takes longer to focus on your subjects. Make sure both your lens and AF sensor are completely clean. Use a soft high thread count cotton cloth to wipe them clean.
