Question about Casio Cassiopeia E-125 Pocket PC

Open Question

How do you turn on the Cassiopeia e125 with no battery?

Looking at your video on youTube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0TT5CnbwBQ

I see that you turn on the Cassiopeia with no battery, how did you do that? I've tried lots of methods and none worked... I've looked for a solution on google and all I can find is that video! Where do you connect those wires coming off from the battery prongs in the device???

Any help would be useful...
Thanks a lot!

SOURCE: Cassiopeia E-125 & Nokia 7650

You will need 2 things. Software to load on your E-125. The included Cd with your Nokia should have it. You will need a special cable to connect Nokia to E-125. I don't know where you will find it easily. There is a firm in Finland which makes all kinds of cables to connect different models of Cassiopeias to different models of mobile phones - essentially Siemens, Nokia & Ericsson. They run about US$ 50/= Last time I saw their listing it was 4 pages long. You might have to do some searching on the net or contact Casio for information. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: targus keyboard installation

The problem is most likely with the driver being for an older MIPS processor (like the one in the Casio E-100). Where did you obtain this keyboard. Targus did not really support the EM500 when the keyboard came out. Now, they don't at all. Email Targus www.targus.com or Stowaway www.thinkoutside.com for a new driver.

SOURCE: Need help on connecting E-125

Activesync I had problems with Activesync 3.7 with a used E-125 I bought. I tried 3.6 and it seemed to work OK at first, but I had a problem linking to Outlook / Office XP (outbox material from the PDA only). I got the original 3.1 and installed it (I also have XP home edition) and I had no problems. I would suggest that you uninstall the later version first, of course.

leave the backup battery in the PDA and bring it back to life with this how to ;)

http://youtube.com/watch?v=l0TT5CnbwBQ

if that doesn't help you may need to give the battery a little kick-charge for the PDA to recognize it again. the PDA "thinks" there's not battery if the battery voltage is below 2Volt.
to "kick-charge" the battery just get a AC adaptor with at least 5V and 1A (a.k.a. 1000mA) with 2 wires and connect them to the battery pins (with "+" and "-" correct!)

if you have your PDA lying in front of you with the display down and the battery cover opened, the pins of the battery are as following:

left: plus
middle: charging/temperature (not important for hand-charging)
right: minus

connect the wires of the AC adaptor correctly and let it "kick-charge" for about 5minutes (but NEVER let it charge any longer if the battery is getting hot!!!!)

after that, the PDA should recognize the battery again because the voltage is more than 3Volt again.

but don't (!) try to power it up after kick-charging!
the batterys voltage is higher than 3Volt again, but it takes just a few seconds to empty it again if u try that.
it's only for the PDA to "see" the battery again ;)
