Question about Keurig B60 Coffee Maker

Keurig B60 makes coffee at random all by itself

We are on our 5th pot in the past few weeks. I had an older model that was less than 2 years old and it started making coffee by itself. It didn't matter if the handle was up or not. It just spewed coffee or very hot water all over the kitchen. Called Keurig and they said they had not encountered this problem before and since the pot was over one year old they couldn't replace it. We had purchased it at Costco, so took it back, they refunded our money and we bought a new one. We had it for 7 days, worked great, then the Not Ready light stayed lit all the time and nothing worked. Bought another one, worked for one cup of coffee. Called Keurig said they would call back on Monday. The lady had me hold down the cup buttons and then hit the power button, said sometimes this has to be done for a period of over 10 minutes. Tried repeatedly and no luck. Took the pot back got another, it worked for a few days, then the same thing. Tried the button solution with no luck. Took it back got one at a store a long way away and it worked for about 5 days. Then it made coffe all by itself and then nothing worked except the not ready light. We have purchased our 5th pot and getting ready to try it. I love this coffee, but the pots seem to have turned to junk.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Try plugging it into another outlet, preferably one on a different circuit breaker. If this works call an electrician. I have seen electronic devices do all sorts of strange things when the power is bad.

Hello,

I assume your coffe maker used to produce more coffee for each use. Roughly 6 ounces per large cup, and now is only making 3 oz. cups.

If your coffee maker is sputtering and not able to "suck" enough water to fill your cups of coffee it is most likely due to cavitation caused in the little pump due to a stoppage, which is most likely lime or scale buildup somewhere in the pump line.

To fix it, don't take your coffee maker apart. Get a bottle of distilled white vinegar, and pour it straight into the empty water resevoir. Press brew with no coffee pod so you are just running the vinegar through the system. Pour the vinegar out of the cup and back into the resevoir. Add some ice to cool it off. Repeat about 10 times. This should clear out the toughest lime scale clog.

After you notice the cups are filling full of water, Replace the vinegar with fresh water. Run about 5 or 6 cups of fresh water through the system to get rid of the vinegar.

Make coffee/tea/whatever.

since you have had the machine for only 3 months I beleave its still covered by warranty and you should contact your dealer instead of taking it to 3rd party repair service

SOURCE: New Keurig B60 stopped working!

I had the same issue. I now believe that there was some "vapor lock" type issue. Mine would say the same thing, and i could hear the pump running, but the water level was not changing in the reservoir. I unplugged it, removed the reservoir, let it cool, then tipped it on its back for a few minutes, then on each side. Truthfully I was trying to see if there was some kink in the tubing. Couldn't find a problem, so set it back up and it runs great again.

SOURCE: My Keurig pot will not stay on, nor will it get "ready to brew"

Mine just started doing the exact same thing today. I just bought it a little over thirty days ago. I called Keurig {1-866-901-BREW (2739) Representatives are available 7:00 am to 12:00 midnight EST, 7 days a week}

They are sending me a whole new unit (3-10 biz days) and told me to discard my old one. Said it was a problem with the internal water heater so it powers down automatically after it fails.

It typically makes a boiling water sound after brewing as it heats the next batch of water... that is where it is failing in mine.. and yours as it seems. You can call and see if yours is still under warranty and possibly get a replacement unit. Serial number is on the face of the unity behind the drip tray on the front. It's long .. three sets of numbers and letters.

hope this helps

SOURCE: keurig b60 coffe maker will not do anything.

These brewers are defective & Keurig is replacing them with new units @ no cost. Just call the toll free # (866-901-2739) & they will ship out a replacement in 3 to 10 business days. I own (2) of the B77's & they have both been replaced. Even if not the above mentioned model, call them anyway & see what they will do for you......

After first cup is brewed, it shuts itself off and

No solution but we are on our 5th replacement from Keurig. Everyone has done exactly the same thing. It worked fine for a few weeks, than started turning off after brewing a cup. Like the problem states, the only way we can get it to work is to turn off and wait 15 minutes or so, then try again. Keurig has been great in replacing our coffee makers, but I really like it to just work.

Keurig problem.

Check to see if the gasket around the top "pointy thing" is damaged or missing. That just happened to mine.

Keurig will send you a replacement gasket free of charge. Just call them at 1-866-901-BREW (2739) with your model and serial numbers. The numbers are on the bottom of the machine.
