Sure- that's the maximum rating. In fact, if Polaroid had used 35v rated caps in the first place, we probably wouldn't all be replacing them.

BTW another replacement that worked perfectly here.

You can get any size/type capacitor from DigiKey.  See this thread for the part numbers I used:

My 46" lcd keeps shutting

You have popped capacitors on your power supply.

Here is what you need to look for:

Once you locate the problem capacitors you will need to replace with the SAME uF value and HIGHER voltage value. EX: 1000uF 10v ---->1000uF 35v

Thank you and best of luck!

LG 32lc2d tv - blinked several times and then froze. Whern it unfroze it turned itself off. Now when it comes on, there is no picture, no sound. Any answers? Thanks

This sound like the power supply board has failed. This is usually because of bad electrolytic capacitors.
A bad batch was made several years ago and many manufacturers used them is all sort of products. THIS IS A INDUSTRY WIDE PROBLEM.

IF you know how to repair electronics or have a friend with knowledge/skill you can replace thems.
> Unplug the set.
> Remove the back cover.
> Look at the capacitors on the power supply board.
> If any capacitors have a bulging top you've found the problem.
> You need to get good new replacements.
>The farad rating must be the same.
>The voltage rating can be the same or higher voltage. (never lower)
>Use high temperature rated ones.
> Replace one at a time to prevent mixup.
> When soldering in leave a space between the PC board and the bottom of the capacitor. They need room to expand due to heat.
> While you have the board out you should replace the other capacitors before they fail. Maybe not the biggest one however.

NTE make capacitors. Website You should be able to find there local outlet. You can also look at;

Not turning on at all

check your power supply. remove it then remove the metal plates on top of the psu. ill bet you find 2x 1000uf 35V ,4 x 1000uf 10V and 3x 670uf 35V capacitors that are swollen or leaking. if you replace the 1000uf caps it will work but if the 670uf caps are swollen as well its a good idea to replace them as well. the 1000uf capacitors can be bought at radio shack for around 10 dollars. you can use the 1000uf 35V caps for the 1000uf 10V caps if you cant find the 10V ones . the 35V caps are a little bit bigger but still work . you will need a good soldering iron (35-60 watts) and a good desoldering tool . easy to do if you know how to solder.

Polaroid 3700 lcd (2006): Every time it is turned on it makes a high pitch screech that will go away in 5 min. Sometimes,it immediately locks up and has to be unplugged and tried again. It started about 5...

Hello: This is a problem with the power supply unit, There are two capacitors that need to be replaced in this unit. They are the two 1000uf 10V Capacitors that is failing on the power supply, If you take off the back there is a metal module in the center of the unit, lf you open it the power supply is located towards the upper part of the system. Look at the capacitors for puffy and swollen tops, just in case you don't know what capacitors look like they look like tall batteries mounted vertically on the board with metal type tops. If you run your hand across the top of them they should all be flat. Look for the two swollen ones and replace. The Value on the Capaictors should say around 1000uf at 10V. Replace with 1000uf at 16V. The reason you television is malfunctioning is that these caps are leaky.

This tv has issues with 4 capacitors. These caps can be replaced for about $10. They are located at the top right corner of the power supply. They will read 10v,1000uF. I had the same problem, then I replaced them wit 16v,1000uF capacitors. And presto tv!

LG32LC2D - Sound slow to start

This is indicative of a bad main board that will need replaced. For this model make sure the repair person has the full product code (from the back of the unit) so that they can get the correct main board ordered (there are multiple versions depending on the product code). Hope this helps.

Trutech TV PLV16320 - Power Supply Caapacitor Values

I take it you didn't save the capacitors?Or you just don't know what hole they came out of?I have someone that is supose to be sending me their power board from the same model TV.When I get it,if I do,I will let you know what they are.I did replace the bad ones on a 26" Trutech, and to me,they appeared to have the same board. If you wanted to take the chance, and replace the ones I did, here is what they were.Mine had three different diameters as well, but two had different voltages, and height. The measurements read diameter, and then height.(2) 35V 1000UF 13MM X 22MM (1) 25V 680UF 10MM X 16MM (1) 35V 680UF 10MM X 20MM (4) 10V 1000UF 8MM X 14mm When you do go to replace them, you can get ones with a higher value on both specs, but not lower. For example,if there is a 10V 1000UF,and a 16V 1000 UF,you can replace them both with 16V 1000UF,and it will work perfect. You can also use different heights as well,as long as there is enough room. How is the big black 450V 150UF,and the 400V 10UF capacitors? You have to check the bottoms of them as well.I had fixed one that these were the only two that were bad.I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please let me know.Thank You very much!

Same won't turn on

Found the two 1000uf 10V capacitors that were bulged out on the power supply board located inside the main control box, replaced them with 1000uf 16v capacitors from Allied Electronics at $3.00. Took the parts to an electronics repair shop and had them replaced, these type of capacitors have a +/- pins so ensure if your soldering these yorself get the polarity correct, and don't replace them with 10v again thats probably why some are only lasting another week or two.

ILO LCT32HA36 will not power on

same thing happened to my ilo. There are four capacitors that are bad on the power board. You can usually tell its bad because at the top it bulges out. Here is what you need to do. Unplug the tv, open up your ilo find the power board ( the power cord plugs into it). Then find the capacitors that are bad (they are the around things usually in blue color) and remove them by soldering the other side. On mine there where three 1000uf 16v and one 470uf 35v. Those are the ones that need replacing. I replaced them with a higher voltage rating 1000uf 35v and 470uf 50v. All you need to do is solder them back on but make sure you solder them back the right way (plus goes to plus on the board or you will be in trouble). I found the capacitors at radio shack for about 1.50 a peice. If you dont know how to solder look it up on youtube. If that does not work there might be couple more bad capacitors that need replaceing just need to find them and you can tell by a small bulging top.
