Me personally I would look on the motherbaord for the numbers and try to find an exact replacement on ebay. If that doesnt work out, take it in to a store or send me a picture of it and Ill give you a recommendation. The main problem you run into is that the HP cases are proprietary and only fit certain boards. - Erick

I have an older computer, HP pavillion a800n, and have a problem with downloading pictures from emails (we use Windows XP-Home & I have AOL service). It downloads okay, but also "piggybacks" onto every...


I would suggest to google setting up Outlook Express for AOL and DL your Email and attachments that way. ive never personally been a fan of AOL software, but have had to use it in the past and found a few work arounds

If you cant get to the BIOS or SET-UP screen (and your sure you have power) then you have to have it checked with a P.O.S.T .card (you can find them on ebay for about $20

Good ole HP laptops. Gotta love em. First thing to do is go to the following site to see if your computer is covered. The wifi thing is a very common issue with these laptops over heating.

Chances are yes you lost your motherboard. Look online,not HP for replacement, I got one for $110 for a dv9000. As far as what I've done is cleaned the heat sink from grease and thermal pads and used arctic silver 5 thermal grease and also invested in a ZM-NC2000 cooling pad. These are insanely good, recording a 30 degree F drop. This will help keep it going after repairs. You can also go to the following site, put in your product number, them click on how to and you can find a whole manual explaining how to completely disassemble the whole laptop and replace every part. Good luck.
