I recorded 9 dvd's on holiday, 7dvd's i have finalized, the other two i cannot finalize, it keeps saying "please unfinalize" AND when i unfinalize, then finalize,it still says "please unfinialize!! Somebody please help.
Try playing the problem disks on your PC. If they wont play and the "Finalised" disks do then try recording a further brief clip on the problem disk. If that works then attempt to "Finalise" again. Can you play the problem disks in the Camera by the way?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Hi, Make sure that MiniDVD has been finalized in camcorder then it can be playback in any other DVD Player. Finalize option would be available in camcorder dvd setup menu, select it to finalize recorded mini dvd disc, please note UnFinalized mini dvd disc will only playback in camcorder because of its raw data and Finalization will validate this raw data so other dvd players will recognize this mini dvd disc for playback. Hope these info will help you. Thanks.
hi its geoff
yes you can. i dose say that no more recording can be done after the disc is finalized (thats true, you first have to unfinalize the cd to write more files on it.but you can initialize the disk at any time but you lose the recorded content(it frormats the disk) then you can use the disk over and over again. remember finalizing and unfinalizing requires you to plug the mains charger into the camcorder it assumes theres not enough power in the battery to do the job and will need the mains every time.but initializing only requires sufficient battery power .
The delete option is for a DVD-RW and will not be highlighted when there is a DVD-R. And once a DVD has been finalized you cannot un-finalize. If it is a DVD-R the disc can not be changed after being finalized. If it is a DVD-RW you can format the disc after it has been finalized. This process will erase everything on the disc but it can be used again.
you have to finalize it first. you can finalize it by going to home menu/manage disc and memory and then click the finalize buttonwarning after you finalize it you wont be able to record again untill you unfinalize it which you can also do in home menu/manage disc and memory but it will erase all videos you had in it
If you want to edit the video, try copying the unfinalized VOB or VRO file from the mini-DVD onto your harddrive by just putting it on the dvd drive of your pc.. u can use premire or some other tolls to get the work done and finally burn it another dvd as you like.
good luck my friend
