Konica Minolta Dimage Z2 camera will not read any SD card

We have tried formatting each card & it still reads "unable to use card" when SD card is inserted. On the menu, the only thing we are able to do is format. And that doesn't work. What to do next?

Got similar problems with Z5 :
Don't use over 2Gb cards !
Don't shoot photos too fast !
If you need reformatting via computer : use FAT or FAT 16. Then reformat using camera.
THE issue comes if you want to send back the photos previously saved on computer back on SD card : do not change them !!! Don't rotate !!! Don't rename !!
If you rotate and or rename, I did it... = ERROR message : Does anybody knows what to do ? I can"t know which photo was renamed, re-renamed back to original format, neither which was rotated, and in which way : clockwize ? counterclock wize ???? Is there a way to know the original format of the photo taken with a Konica Minolta Z5 ?...

Hi there
you don't say how big the card is, my guess is its bigger than 2 gig which is the maximum allowable size for that camera.

hope this helps

What type and size of memory card are you trying to use? The Z2 works with MMC and SD cards, 2GB and smaller. It will not work with higher-capacity SDHC cards.

Try formatting the card with the 'Format' function in the camera menu.
If you read the manual you can can find which card types are supported.

I bought 4GB SD card for minolta dimage Z1, but error comes UNABLE TO USE CARD....I read in the fourms that this camera does not support 4GB cards... right?

Your camera came out in 2003, before SDHC cards were invented. Chances are, the 4G card you're trying to use is not an SD but an SDHC card and won't work in your camera.

Minolta dimage s414 camera, error no card try to use a 4 gb flashcard and then it read unable to use card.

The S414 was designed to work with SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it will fit into the slot, it will not work. You need to stay with SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

I am using the Minolta Diamge S414 and when I put the memory card in it says unable to read card. The card is a Sandisk 4GB Extreme. Is this card not compatiable with the camera. Thanks

Try to format the card first. Sometimes, if there is data on the card, the camera will not be able to read it. You should always format memory cards on the camera that they will be used on.

Unable to use card

Firstly, what size memory hard do you have? Is it an SDHC? Secondly, have you checked that the memory card isn't locked (there is a switch on the side of it). Has it worked with other memory cards?

CF Card won't read in camera

Hi and thanks for coming to FixYa.

The proper card for your camera is an SD (Secure Digital) card. It won't take a CF (Compact Flash) card.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Konica Minolta Z2 SDHC reading card

Spare yourself the trouble. I had researched it (I thought) and got one, and stuck it in. The screen read: "Unable to use," It continued to read this, even after I formatted the card, so I ended up giving it to my brother, who has a Kodak camera. Sorry!
