Exercise Bike Proteus PEC-4350HP

Hi there, I was hoping someone there might be able to help me troubleshoot my issue with my above machine. I have had this now for 3 - 4 years. The issue is that my monitor displays "E I" and beeps at me. It does not let me get into any training modes whenever I try, and sends me right back to a blank screen saying on it "E I" and beeping. Please help me troubleshoot this? Thanks kindly.

SOURCE: Monitor displays breifly then goes to blank screen

Well my Acer AL1711 finally gave up in as much as the screen flashed briefly at switch-on then went blank, regardless of brilliance setting so I decided to take it apart and try to fix it. The good news is that IT WAS NOT THE LAMPS that I feared in my earlier post and was easier than I had ever dreamed! First allow a good period of time for the internal components to discharge before starting. Remove the plastic clip at the base hinge to expose 4 screws - remove all four to release the stand. Then remove the 4 black cross head screws that appear to hold the back on, they do but there is more to do. Carefully tease the silver surround away from the case, best to start in the centre of each side and finish at the corners. There are many plastic clips to release before the surround comes away. Now remove the four cross head screws holding the pushbutton switch circuit board. The whole assembly can now be removed from the case and reveal a metal cover held by 2 SHORT (remember that!) SHORT! threaded machine screws. These once removed will allow the case to be slid away from the holding tabs located down the edges of the cover and removed. Now unplug the connectors from the board that has the mains input connector attached to it. You will see a heatsink with 4 electrolytic caps above it. Silly ACER designers, have placed the capacitors so that they get all the heat from the heatsink! Yes folks, the capacitors are above the heatsink when the monitor is in its normal operating position! So all the convected heat dries them out, nice. So the fault is due to a silly design error! Replace all 4 capacitors, two of them are 1000uF at 16V and the other two are 470uF at 16V, all radial types. Try and get capacitors with the highest operating temperature, at least 105 degree types and remember these are polarised, make sure you connect the capacitor + wire to + on the circuit board. You should have no problems with re-assembly but don't put the wrong screw where the short ones went or you are liable to see it come out of the screen LOL! Most important - - Don't forget the screw holding the earth tag to chassis. Good Luck, you will be amazed how much brighter the screen is now!

SOURCE: Monitor displays breifly then goes to blank screen

The green power light indicates that the monitor is receiving from the computer correctly. I suspect it is going into high voltage shutdown. There is a safety circuit that monitors the high voltage and shuts the monitor down if it sees anything amiss. So the monitor comes on and then shuts off. High voltage problems are generally not worth trying to repair. Another example of a worthless safety feature. High voltage failures are not dangerous, and adding the safety circuit just kills the unit when it may have some life left or worse, sometimes it is the shutdown circuit itself which fails!
Hope this helps.

There is just no way you will be happy to hear it needs service or replacement under warranty.

Hi, Susan could not find anything on the internet but you could take a picture of it and take the picture to a gym or a store that sells exercise equipment and maybe someone can point you in the right direction as far as make and model go. Good luck and have a nice day.

Where does the h35HR exercise bike plug in?

Plug the power adapter into the receptacle on the frame of the exercise bike.

The insert for the power supply should be toward the bottom front of your machine.

My pedals are squeaking while pedaling on my Schwinn 240 recumbent exercise bike, can I use WD40?

i cannot see any problems with wd40 on any bike and have used it myself for many years.
just wipe away any excess, and do not spray it on the pedal tops (where your shoes go) as they may get slippery.

light oil (3in1 or simillar) is also excellent on bikes instead of wd40. same advice as above.

i find wd40 works faster, especially on squeaks, but oil works for longer.
i usually use wd40 first to cure the imediate noise, and then use a few drops of the oil to keep it quiet for longer.

hope this helps

No resistance when I pedal the stationary exercise bike

I looked into this thinking is must be a simple belt, or tention wheel, but these devices are much more complex than the average exercise machine. See the Recumbent selection here.

It appears that the tentioning device is a magnetic brake.
This would require that it be plugged into a power source and programmed to provide a desired tention.
I've never used one of these so I can't say what kind of programming options there are or where they are found.

Hope this helps.

Battery missing for exercise bike

I have a Schwinn airdyne (model AD-3) that uses a button type battery in the count-down timer, which is above the work load indicator or the 'speedometer'. According to the manual I was given with the bike, it utilizes a 1 1/2 volt watch - type battery (LR44, A 76 or equivalent).

Hope this helps.
