Okay, It can be 1 of 2 problems here:

1. Your laptop battery is completly dead, this can be caused by the overcharging of the battery, You may need to buy a new battery.

2. The battery charger is set at a voltage that can keep the laptop running, but not charge the battery at the same time, try a different charger (universal)

It is most likely that your battery is shot, but you could try unplugging your power supply, popping out your battery, and carefully clean the contacts on both the battery and where the battery connects to your laptop.

What OS are you using? You may have to update the BIOS.

For Windows XP or Vista you'll want to go here.

Restore factory settings for a acer aspire 5315 laptop

acer dont have a restore, you are prompted when you first boot it up when purchased to make a back up set of discs, i assume you didn't, you will need to lend somebodies XP or Vista Disc , but use your own product code on the underside of your notebook to reformat and reinstall windows.
