1. Add a finish keyboard layout (http://www.google.de/search?q=add%20keyboard%20layout) 2. Ask someone to give you either a picture or search for it so that you know which keys are where in the finish layout 3. Start your writing app 4. While the App is active, change the keyboard layout to finish In most XP setups, the Taskbar has a small additional icon where you can switch. (but should also be mentioned in the many pages found by the above search:-)

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Your language setting is wrong. Either it is a UK keyboard and set to US or a US keyboard set to UK. In Control Panel find keyboard and change the setting.

check your regional and language settings in control panel and ensure that the language chosen on all the tabs is the same, normally, this occurs when the language selected doesn't match the keyboard installed (Systems sold in the USA have a USA keyboard, UK an UK one, etc) they keyboard layouts are different and having the wrong language or keyboard layout selected selected gets you the issue you describe.

There is a possibity in the system to change keyboard-type (not language): Start/Configuration/Keyboard - choose the right type. I think that the system still things the external keyboard is atached whils you're uising the built-in one - which seems to have different keycodes, causing this problem

My lenovo laptop keyboard is not showing english letters, it is showing 2 dots above certain letters.. please help

Theres a on screen keyboard you can see if the on screen keyboard is doing this too. That will tell you if its a OS or keyboard issue. Also try an external keyboard to see if its doing it too. If they all do it it your language pack in your OS. You may need to set your OS language to another language and then switch back to english. Ive seen this before.

Laptop keybroad produces mulitiple letters at once instead of the single letter pressed

Hi there.
It sounds to me like the keyboard could be faulty, but you say that the keyboard is set to Latin?
If your first language is English then the keyboard should be set to US or UK keyboard.
To change this go to the control panel, select regional and language options and set the keyboard layout to US or UK, save the changes and restart the computer, see if that helps.
If not its a faulty keyboard.
Please post back with the results and for any additional advice.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!
