The problem may be the batteries. When the batteries get old and won't charge or if a battery needs recharging the kenwood radios TX/RX LED will flash untill the problem is resolved.

Kenwood Protalk tk-3200U8P won't receive nor transmit. Red Light comes on when talk button is pushed. Any suggestions?

Hmph, Kenwood, I had a Kenwood and they still use the same method, there is a small wire from the board to the base of antenna connection, it broke and the RF zapped all its chips. I am afraid you will have to take it a dealer.

Flashing red light on radio where it thinks its recieving. Transmits fine but does not recieve.

Three things come to mind:
1) The radio is receiving, hence the light, but you may have a different PL code than the other radio and it is muting the transmission. Check your programming to be certain both radios are programmed alike. The red light indicates activity on your frequency.
2) Your radio may have a problem with the receive side of the radio or a bad speaker.
3) The transmitting radio may have a problem with transmit. This can be a sign of a bad battery. Swap batteries and see if the problem moves to the other radio. If so, replace the battery. (It takes more energy to transmit than to receive, so loss of transmit is common with a bad battery.)
Best regards.

Motorola fr50 red flight flashing quickly

Hi Kenny,

While the red light is blinking, is there someone else talking on the 2-way?

If the answer is yes, that's the reason it's blinking, because it's telling you that the channel is in use...

I hope this answers your query.

Cheers,
Peter

My radio will receive transmissions but will not transmit. It just beps and flashes redlight on top

Hi Kevin,

Beeps and flashes, well my radio does that only if I try to transmit while someone else is using the airwaves already. the radio tells me the Channel is in use, so you can't get on the air until the channel is clear.

Sometimes, some nasty person(s), will hold down their PTT button without saying anything thus blocking the channel with what is known as a 'CARRIER' signal.

Is this the reason you're not making it on air?

I hope this has resolved the issue, if so, nothing wrong with your radio.

Cheers,
Peter

Red light flashing

It is either defective, or it has something touching one of the contacts causing a short. It would be best to replace the charger. Typically they are somewhat like a light bulb, they will burn out over time and need replaced.
