Re: need help with black screen
Try looking at the back of the TV and ensuring that the incoming cable is in the correct input. If you have audio and video cables make sure they are placed in the same input. What type of cable do you have directv or comcast?

Restart your computer and then press and hold F8 keys until you get Advanced Options menu screen.Use the arrow key to highlight Safe Mode, and then press Enter, your computer will boot automatically to safe mode. If you able to start in the safe mode then Scan your computer for viruses. Some viruses can cause a black Screen , especially ones that infect the master boot record (MBR) or boot sector. Update drivers for your hardware. black Screens are hardware or driver related so updated drivers could fix the cause of the STOP error. Return BIOS settings to their default levels. An overclocked or misconfigured BIOS can cause all sorts of random issues, including black screen. If it didn't helps you then simply get the system utility program like PC Fresher that will fix windows errors that cause of black screen screen
sounds like the monitor aint supporting the graphics card, do you see your boot menu when you turn on the pc, have you tried booting up in safe mode and removing drivers and restarting then installing drivers. try a differnt monitor, make sure your bios settings are corect for that card, hope these few things help
I would have to bet, it sounds like overheating or not enough power to the graphics card. If you have a 500watt+ you should b fine on power. If the PSU is big enouh then its overheating get a better cooler like a zalman VGA cooler w/ zalman video ram heaetsinks. Hope this helps.
this can be a problem from the lcd display too.because if you noticed on a peripherical device as the tv it doesnt show erors..and the ptint screen same..if it was the video card...these errors would contiinue to appear..so it usrelly is a display problem..try to udjust the settings..if it will not work consult a specialized acer service.. bye
