If you mean still pictures then this will depend on the software you usualy get with the product.. if you installed it then there will be an option while running the program (button or menu option maybe even a hot-key setup) to take a picture... ocasionally there will be an actual button on the top of the web-cam to take the picture but nearly always need the associated software to use it

My computer says it can't detact my webcam. everytime I go to it, it says no wecam detected.

The first step will be to check to see that your computer recognizes that anything is detected. to do this you should:
  1. Open your Control Panel (Make sure it's set to "Classic View")
  2. Click on "System".
  3. Go to the Hardware tab and click on "Device Manager".
  4. If your computer does recognize the camera, it should show up under "Imaging Devices".
If it does not, then it should show up under "Other Devices".
  1. Right click on the camera there, and click "Update driver"
  2. Now, follow the on screen instructions, and windows should get your camera working.
If your camera is recognized, but still doesn't show up, then you probable have a problem with whatever program is trying to use it. For that, I would need to know what program that is.

My hp deluxe wecam freeze every time i turn it on! my window vista says it doen't recognize it! how can i fix this problem so that my wecam stays on?

Go to the HP.com website, Support section, and download the driver for XP. Then go to Control Panel, Hardware, Devices and look for your webcam. Go through the tabs to make sure it is Enabled. Be sure your webcam is plugged directly into the computer and not through a hub or cable. You can also test your webcam on the free webcam test tool.

Where do the digital stills save when you press the snapshot button?

Depends upon the saving location that you or the Logitech WEcam installation software has configured.
In most cases it will be in your My Document folder - My Pictures - Quickcam.

How to take still pic with webcam MCNIC50C

  1. Step 1 Make sure your Web cam is hooked up to the USB port on the back of the computer and installed appropriately and the computer is on and ready.
  2. Step 2 From the start menu, left click on control menu (these are the steps for XP yours might be a little different). Then on the dialog box that pops up, left click on the "Printers and other Hardware" option.
    (If you don't have XP but have iPhoto Plus, skip to step 7.
  3. Step 3 Another dialog box will pop up. Left click on the scanners and cameras option to bring another dialog box up. From there double click with the left mouse key on the icon for your camera. This will bring up the "Scanner and Camera Wizard."
  4. Step 4 Left click the next key to get to the image capture screen, position the camera and left click on the word "Take Picture" below the image. The image will show up on the scrolling menu next to the image capture part of the box. Select it (left click the small box next to the image to get a check mark in the box) or use the select all option to get all pictures, then left click the next key.
  5. Step 5 Select the picture destination from the drop down menus that appear and hit the next key to save. The next dialog box will ask what is to be done with the pictures. Select the option in front of the correct choice and hit the next key to bring up the final screen.
  6. Step 6 From here the picture location will be able to be opened. Left click on finish if finished or select the other appropriate choice. The images should be on the computer and ready to work with.
    If there is no scanner and camera wizard available try the next option.
  7. Step 7 Open iPhoto Plus and left click on the file option. From the drop down menu, scroll down to acquire and select source. Left click on select source.
  8. Step 8 From the dialog box that pops up, select your particular camera by left clicking on the down arrow key and scroll downward until your camera is found. Select the camera from the list by left clicking on it and then left click the ok button. (If your camera is already selected, this step may be unnecessary).
  9. Step 9 Now left click on the file button again select acquire and then left click on image. From the box that comes up make sure the radial button--the round area before the options--before the word "image" has a dark circle in it indicating it is selected. Then left click on the acquire button. (Read tips for other options).
  10. Step 10 A dialog box will appear that is titled "acquire pictures from video". Position the camera for what picture is desired then left click on the capture button.
  11. Step 11 The picture will appear in a drop down menu on the other side of the video feed. Scroll down if need be and select the picture or left click the "select all" button if you would like all of them and then left click get pictures.
  12. Step 12 Now all the pictures should appear in iPhoto Plus. Save them to your computer with the save option or edit them at your leisure. Not sure if this helps but this is the way I take pics with my webcam. You can also see if there's a button on top of you webcam...Hope this helped any!

I want laptop wecam software

Since you did not give more info, you will have to consider two places for software.

If you want webcam software go to;
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/download.aspx?category=ICE

and follow the instructions for entering your operating system, product type, language etc.

Also check;
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/select-system.pl?DIRECTOR=DRIVER

and follow the instructions.

The location on the hard drive that a pic will be stored will depend on the default programing of whatever software you might be using to take the pictures with. That could mean literally hundreds ( maybe thousands ) of different locations, The camera is properly loaded with working webcam DRIVER software still depends on the USER's choice of software to decide how a pic is taken. These pics that are taken can be stored in a multitude of formats with .JPG and .BMG being some of the most common picture formats. You ask a very generic question that affects ALL cameras that can be hooked up to a computer but there is NO SINGLE answer to this question as it totally lies in the discretion of the software that the END USER applies to his/her webcam/camera. In many cases an END USER can initiate changes to the programming of many softwares to force the pictures to locate in areas of the hard drive that the USER decides he/she likes. But the USER himself/herself has to initiate these actions usually in the OPTIONS part of whatever software the USER is using with the camera. That is about as generic as I can be.
