I had a very similar problem with a new printer. The kids scratched the cd. i had to get a new one in the end,(what madness) we paid by credit card so were covered for the loss. I could not believe that i could not replace the old cd. try the manufacturer but i did not have much luck. someone out there must have replacement disks!!
First pull out ink cartdge from printer. Then check there is any paper jam .Clean ink cartrdge from dust and ink powder also check there is any leakage in inkcartrdge. Then put again ink cartrdge in its position.
the printer keeps saying "press enter to align cateritage" so i press enter. there was no black ink so
I went to the printer store and bought a refill on black ink...
Put the refilled cateritage in the printer and again its says allign cateritage. It takes about 5 minutes, and it prints out a piece of paper and says alignment failed....
Take all carts out. Have a close look into the cart holder. If you have lost ink it will be beneath the cart holder! That might be because the cart holder leaks. You need a new cart holder then. You have to open the printers top cover, carefully take the holder out, clean the bottom of printer and replace the holder with a new one.
This happens sometimes because the glue which fastens the foil (this is the bottom of the holder!) lost its adhesivness.
You may have a split tube on the pump cap or it could be that with standing for a while the ink in the pipes to the waste pad has gone hard.

This should help you get it going again.
