Question about Canon Cameras

I have recently purchased a CANON digital IXUS 9701S compact camera, together with a San Disk Ultra SDHC 4GB memory card. The camera takes excellent pictures but will not transfer the images from the memory card to a computer for editing and sharpening via aodobe picture shop. Can you help is the chip too powerfull or not compatabile.I have taken slides for many years this is my first attempt at digital photography. Thanks **** Hewitt

Hi there
a possible solution..
adobe picture shop can get stroppy with some cameras for no reason.
try copying your pictures from the camera to a folder on your p.c. first.
try inserting one of them into a blank word doc. if it goes in you know its not the picture.
then try opening a picture from that folder with adobe and see if that works.

hope that helps

A 4GB memory card will be an SDHC type. SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but many cameras won't work with the SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

Can I use an SDHC 4GB memory card for my Canon Digital IXUS 55? If not, what is the second best?

The IXUS 55 uses SD cards, not SDHC cards. You can use any SD card, 2GB and smaller.

Just put in new san disk 4gb memory card and receiving error message - memory card error. I unlocked memory on card itself (that little gray sliver that goes up and down) What gives

I'm guessing you bought a new 4GB SDHC card. Although it looks exactly the same as a standard SD card, the format the card uses is very different. Unfortunately your camera was designed before the SDHC format came out. Sorry, but a SDHC card will not work with your camera.

You'll need to use standard SD cards (usually those 2GB or less). But if you really want to use a 4GB card, do a Google search for 4GB SD "non HC", with the non HC in quotes. Believe Transcend makes one.

Whwthwr Canon IXUS 700 can accept Micro SDHC card

Sorry, but according to Canon's technical specs, your camera was designed only for use with standard SD card format. SDHC format will not work with it, and will likely give you a memory card error.

I want to purchase an additiional memory card for a trip. Looking at SDHC 8GB memory card and it indicates "Card is compatible with SDHC Devices only" I don't know what this means. Are they compatible?...

sorry but the sdhc card wont work for that model... that type of mem card only works for compact cameras ( think higher/latest cam models).. so dont buy it, you will only get errors when u use it for ur camera and even if u format it over and over put it in put it out in out, still wont work

sdhc- high capacity memory card

some cameras have a limit to the amount of memory it can have you may just be exceding the limit. try using a smaller card.

Ixus 40 maximum SDHC card

Your camera is not compatible with SDHC type cards. No 4gb cards for you. It looks like 2gb (non SDHC) cards are the biggest you can use.

Canon digital ixus 700

I understand that it takes a maximum of 2GB. Still loads of photo/video capability. Don't make the mistake I did of buying a 4GB SDHC card for it. It won't take it.

MEMORY CARD

I would think that as long is it is a sd memory card then it would be compatible since the camera uses the sd card and the 4gb is for photo storrage
