Question about Dell A940 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Copier does not work

Copier used to work fine - now just a whining noise and nothing happens.
Seems to be scanning document all right but does not print

There must be a communication problem between the scanner and printer, the problem might require replacement parts, or atleast a closer inspection, I think its best you send this in for repair, hows the warranty and how old is it? you can generally buy a new multifunction scanner copyer printer for cheaper than the repairs might be.

    Hi ,

    With the experience that i have on dell printers , the problem can only be with the printer. Try scaning the page using the Dell all in one centre program on the computer.

Hi creed,

Although the printer is working fine, there is an error in your drivers, new drivers will update all printer drivers and may clear the fault, try updating your printer drivers:

Create a new folder on your desktop and name it newhpdrivers(substitute your manufacturer in new name). Un-intall printer and printer software completely. Go to manufacturers website and navigate to their drivers/downloads or support menu. Select your model, choose the relevant software and download to the new folder you created on your desktop(watch for the light yellow bar at the top of window viewing pane, click on this and choose – download file - . Power down your computer. Reconnect the printer to the computer and turn printer on. Power on pc. Windows will detect new hardware and ask if you have the manufacturers install cd or a location to check for install files. Direct the wizard to your new software, follow the rest of the setup instructions and your done.
