Some of the Magic products just don't work well with Vista. Try setting you compatibility settings to xp using the compatibility wizard.

This is due to LATENCY - check the help index on whatever program you're running, they may give a way to minimize this. The software takes the MIDI info (when you hit a key), and runs a zillion calculations to arrive at the sound you hear at the end, but this takes time. It also depends on how good your sound card is.

Good morning I have Cubase SX version 1.01. lately when I record vocals to a track. Im noticing that the Vocals are not in sync with the music. one is playing slower than the other track.. the slower is...

I don't 100% understand why Cubase does this. I'm assuming it's a memory (RAM) problem. If you record loud and clear anough you can just drag the tracks to where they're meant to be afterwards because you can see where they go relative to the other tracks

How do i get rid of microphone delay?

You need to adjust the buffer in acids settings. If you set the buffer too low, everything will be in time, but you will get pops and clicks in the audio. Try and find the happy medium for your system. Also be sure there are no other programs such as a virus scanner enabled or running while recording.

Depending on your sound card, there could be another solution if adjusting the buffer does not work for you.

You will then need to find a different ASIO driver that is compatible with your sound card. If you have a soundblaster, there are 3rd party ASIO drivers that you can install, and that should fix the issue.

Good Luck!

When I load up my beat & try 2 record, It stop by itself!!!!!!!!!

Tyke, This is likely an issue of your CPU. This usually happens when you don't have enuff horse power (if u will) in your system. Audio engines take a TON of power to run, and depending on your settings and where u have your latency buffer set- you can easily get drop out. You should definitely check this:

but u might wanna change u're latency buffer first. think about your cpu speed and what other programs are drawing power.

Timing problem!! help needed badly!

Your solution is to delay or speed up the sound that your running thru to your computer. The reason why they put user recording latency under the options then preferences then audio settings is not because this never happens or isn't know about. If your sound is too late in the track you have to re-record the track with a higher number try about 125-160. A hint is to play some notes to the beat, check to see that you are in time, then record what you are planning to record.

Play back problem

At the top center of your screen right above the Play and Record buttons you'll see the tempo indicator. It will read 120.00 BPM or some number like that. Click on the 120.00. You'll get the number with up and down arrows to the right. Click on the arrows to increase or decrease tempo. Or you can hit the backspace ey and type in the tempo you want. Try changing it 10 beats at a time.

Clips out of time after recording.

It's got to be either latency or something causing the movement.  I doubt you'r making the same mistake with your mouse every time, so my guess is a program on your machine if it isn't the latency thing.
Here are some questiosn for you:
  1. How old is your Windows install?
  2. What sort of security apps do you have running?
  3. Are you 100% sure your system is clean of any possible malware?  There are several apps to try to make sure - don't depend on one application for security, too risky.
  4. If you disconnect from the internet during recording, do you get the same issue(s)?
