First and foremost, check your water inlet valve. If water doesn't come into the machine, it generally wont start. A faulty inlet valve has to be replaced by a brand new one.

Secondly, it would appear that you have a faulty lid switch (door switch). Try replacing this as well. If the door is not recognised as being closed, the machine wont start.

Lastly, I would re-check the control board for faulty wiring. If you are not experienced with these kind of tasks, I would recommend calling in a qualified repairman. If your machine is old, and the cost of repairs is unwarranted, then the best alternative is to probably go in for a new machine altogether.

Hope that helps!

If you replaced the control board, then it sounds like there could be some wiring issues. If its having problems with not only selecting different cycles but the lock and water dispensing, then either there is something wrong with the wiring or the computer/control board wasn't installed properly.

How do I unlock a whirlpool duet washer

from a previous discussion:

Wait at least three minutes after the end of the cycle before attempting to unlock your Whirlpool washer. The door will not unlock until the motor speed equals 0 and 180 seconds have elapsed since the motor control unit received the "Stop" command. If the water in the washer is warmer than 122 degrees Fahrenheit or the water level is set higher than Wool, Delicate or Hand Wash, the washer must drain before the door latch will unlock 2 Hold down the "Control Lock" button on your Whirlpool washer for three seconds at the end of the washing cycle. Listen, and when you hear the unlatching sound, the door should open.3 If your Whirlpool washer did not unlock at the end of Step 1, press and hold the "End of Cycle" button for five seconds to manually reset your washing machine.4 Unplug your Whirlpool washer and leave it unplugged for 45 minutes. After 45 minutes, plug your washer back in. The washer's programming should be reset and the door should open.5 Manually unlock the door of your Whirlpool washing machine. Make sure to unplug the appliance before completing the manual unlock. Use a screwdriver to remove the metal strip, called the toe panel, at the bottom of the washing machine. Once you've removed the toe panel, reach up inside the front panel of the washer and feel around for the door latch. Locate the tear-drop shaped tab at the bottom of the door latch and pull it gently. When you hear a click, the door should open.

if you machine is warranty you must call to the whirlpool, and get the assistance via online chat. However you must wait about 180 seconds since you did the command STOP, and stop the motor, fi the water level is higher must be drain before the latch door unlock.
2) if do not obey press and hold END OF CYCLE, wait about 10seconds
3) reset the machine unplugged from wall by 45 minutes, and then plug again, and turn on and unlock the door

God bless you

Pushing the pause / start button will unlock the door in all but the sanitary cycle. If in sanitary cycle, you may have to turn off power, then turn power back on.

LG Washing Machine Model : WD658 When using the function "Rinse & Spin", the timer decreases when rinsing. However, the timer decreases and stops at 9 minutes. This results the machine...

Try setting a lower spin speed. You may have a bulky load which the washer is having a difficult time getting up to the high speed spin you have selected. Also, did you know that on most LG washers, you can do just a spin without a rinse? Just turn the washer power on, then, without selecting a cycle, just push the spin speed selector to select the spin speed desired. This should set the cycle for about a 12 to 14 minutes pump and spin only. Then push start. You can spin that bulky load at the lowest spin, then try it again at the next faster spin if needed, without adding rinse water.

LE error after full cycle toward end of wash it comes up with an error. not sure if it LE or upside down F E? Anyone have this prob?

LE toward the end of cycle probably means you had a bulky load which you tried to spin out at the high spin speed setting. Use a low spin speed with bulky loads. For this load now, just put power on and without selecting a cycle, push the spin speed selector button until a low speed comes up (should be about a 14 minute display) then push start to do a pump and spin only cycle.

What does LEstand for on the washer machine??

LE stands for Load Error. You may have a bad hall sensor, but more likely have an off balance or very heavy load which you were trying to spin at a high speed. For heavy / bulky items, use the low spin speed. After the cycle, you can power the machine up again and just push the spin speed button until the next higher speed shows, then push start to get a 14 minute or so pump and spin only cycle if you want to spin the load out a bit more.

What does "IE" mean when it attempts spin cycle?

is it IE or LE please confirm it. if it is LE code the fixing procedure is given below This usually happens if you're washing on a delicate setting with a moderate load of clothes. Apparently, delicate also means very few items to wash. To clear the LE code - no need to unload the clothes:
    1. Press the power button to turn the washer off.
    2. Press the power button to turn the washer back on.
    3. Cycle the spin cycle selection to 'no spin'.
    4. Press start.
The washer should set to one minute, lock the doors, then drain out the excess water.
Once the 'End' cycle comes up, unplug the machine for several minutes.
Plug the washer back in, press the power button, then set the washer to 'normal' with 'low' spin setting.
Note that the only difference between the normal setting and delicate is the wash time and spin cycle speed. If you have a moderate to large load of delicates, use the normal setting on low spin cycle. The clothes really don't care. Also, make sure you're using 'HE' detergent - low suds. Regular degergent in a front load is not recommended.

    Whirlpool control locked

Power shd be on. Press and hold "end of cycle" button for 3 seconds. Always wait for 2 minutes after the wash is over for the machine to release the door lock; an inbuilt safety device. Never force washer doors, you'll have probs.
