No he is on a network. I am the IT guy at the location. I just have never seen anything like it before. I seen people get spoofed but not like this. LOL.

  • robertld Nov 03, 2008

yea he is wired in. He as not wireless at all coming in to his computer. He has a desktop computer. But thanks for the help.

  • robertld Nov 03, 2008

Well he is part of our IP. He is join to our domain so He is going out our public IP address. Most of the bounce backs are from other servers that are spoofing him. If it was coming from our IP we would have been blacklisted. But we have have not been on a blacklist. How do I know this. Because it has been going on for all most three months now. Also on top of that all the return emails do not have our IP address on it. So that is why I asked if their is some way you can stop spoofing. I have not been able to find a way.

No he is not on any kind of remote wireless of any kine. He is hard wired in to the network. But yea I get what you are saying. Like I said before I know he is getting spoof because all the emails he get's back it returned to use with some other server IP address not ours. You know when you send a email the server IP address in attach to it. Plus we have not been put on any black list. LOL. So i know by that. He cam in last monday with 5,000 return email's. LOL. They want me to do something about it. I told them he need's a new email address but the owner of the company said no and that there has to be something I can do. So i posted this knowing that Someone will just tell me what I know. That nothing can be done and to give me a new email address. Thanks for your help. You don't know of a way to stop email spoofing do you?

ONE QUESTION: IS THIS GUY USING A WIRELESS NETWORK BY ANY CHANCE? IF HE IS, IS IT SECURE? IT SOUNDS LIKE SOMEONE IS JUST LOGGING ON AS SOON AS HE BOOTS UP. I AM JUST POSING AN IDEA. I DON'T KNOW IF HE IS, BUT THIS MIGHT BE A CAUSE. DOES THIS HELP? IF HE IS WIRELESS REPLY AND THEN WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO SOLVE HIS PROBLEM. HOPE THIS IS OF HELP.

ROBERTLD, THANKS FOR THE REPLY. YES I FIGURED HE WAS ON YOUR NETWORK, BUT IS HE USING HIS OWN WIRELESS NETWORK AT WORK OR WHERE EVER THIS IS HAPPENING? WHAT I THOUGHT IS THAT SOMEONE WAS LOGGING INTO HIS COMPUTER FROM HIS END IF HE HAD AN UNSECURE WIRELESS NETWORK AFTER HIS ISP CONNECTION TO YOU. YOU ARE SECURE, BUT IS HE SECURE ON HIS END? THIS WAS MY POINT. SO, MAYBE YOU COULD FIND OUT IF HE WAS USING A REMOTE WIRELESS NETWORK AND IF HE HAS A SECURE WEP KEY? DOES THIS HELP YOU? I HOPE SO! PLEASE REPLY IF I CAN HELP MORE.

THIS IS REALLY HARD TO PINPOINT SINCE IT SEEMS LIKE SOME DETAIL IS MISSING? HIS COMPUTER HAS HAD TO BE CLONED OR HAD A TROJAN OR SOMETHING TO CRANK OUT THIS AMOUNT OF MAIL. SOMEONE HAS CONTROL OF THAT MACHINE AND FROM THIS POINT THE ONLY SOLUTION I SEE IS TO HAVE HIM CHANGE HIS EMAIL ACCOUNT OR AT LEAST CREATE A NEW PASSWORD & LOGIN. HE HAS TO BE GOING TO SOME SITE TO GET SPAMMED LIKE THIS! I TAKE IT THE MAIL IS NOT COMING THROUGH YOUR SERVERS AT THE ISP? OR DO YOU SEE THE VOLUMN ON YOUR END.

ONE STRONG IDEA IS TO TURN THE ISP ADDRESS INTO THE FTC AS A SPAMMER AND THEY WILL RUN THEIR OUR INVESTAGATION ON THE ISP AND IF THEY ARE SPAMMING HIM THEY WILL BUST THAT ISP. I WOULD STRONGLY SUGGEST THIS NOW. ALSO, YOUR COMPANY CAN ALSO CONTACT THIS ISP ADDRESS AND FILE A COMPLAINT AND MAYBE THAT WILL STOP THEM. JUST A COUPLE OF MORE IDEAS. HAS THIS GUY TRIED BLOCKING THE SITE?? MOST EMAIL PROGRAMS GIVE YOU THE OPTION OF BLACKLISTING SITES. IS HE DOING THIS? STAY IN TOUCH, THIS IS A PUZZLE. I'LL TRY TO HELP MORE.

SAID TO SAY THERE REALLY ISN'T A VERY GOOD WAY. EXCEPT TO JUST DROP THE ACCOUNT YOU ARE USING AND ESTABLISH A NEW ONE. IT IS OBIVIOUS THE ACCOUNT HE HAS IS COMPRIMIZED AND WORTHLESS, SO I DON'T SEE ANOTHER OPTION. UNLESS HE CAN SET HIS FILTERS AT HIS END TO STOP MOST OF THE EMAILS, HE IS PRETTY MUCH STUCK IF HIS BOSS WON'T CHANGE THE ADDRESS. THERE ARE SOME GOOD SPAM FILTER PROGRAMS HE MIGHT TRY TO CUT DOWN THE JUNK. YOU MIGHT TELL HIM ABOUT THEM. HERE ARE A COUPLE OF BUSINESS GRADE ONES.

Tell me why I'm getting failure notices when I have not sent an email?

First of all, you CAN get a delivery failure notice for emails which you did not send. More than likely a spammer is sending spam emails to multiple recipients and your email address is used by the spammer as the sender. They don't need access to your email to do it - they can spoof any address they like. The bad news is, you really cannot do anything to stop it. The good news is, it usually goes away after several weeks as the spammer stop spoofing your sender address and move on to others.

How to Send Anonymous Emails

bbe4318.jpg
Most of us are very curious to know a method to send anonymous emails to our friends for fun. But the question is, is it possible to send anonymous emails in spite of the advanced spam filtering technology adopted by email service provides like Gmail, Yahoo etc? The answer is YES, it is still possible to bypass their spam filters and send anonymous emails to your friends. For example, you can send an email to your friend with the following sender details.
From: Bill Gates <billg@microsoft.com>
The art of sending this kind emails is known as Email Spoofing. In my previous post on How to Send Fake Email I insisted on using your own SMTP server to send anonymous emails. This method used to work successfully in the past, but today it has a very low success rate since Gmail and Yahoo(all major email service providers) blocks the emails that are sent directly from a PC. In this post I have come up with a new way to send anonymous emails (spoofed emails) that has 100% success rate. If you have to successfully send an anonymous email or spoofed email, you should send it using a relay server.
What is a Relay Server?
In simple words, a relay server is an SMTP Server that is trusted by Google or Yahoo as an authorised sender of the email. So, when you send an email using a relay server, the email service providers like Yahoo and Gmail blindly accept the emails and deliver it to the inbox of the recipient. If the SMTP server is not authorised, Google and Yahoo will reject all the emails sent from this SMTP server. This is the reason for which using our own SMTP server to send emails fail.
So What’s Next?
Now all we have to do is, find a trusted SMTP server to Send Spoofed Emails. Usually all the emails that are sent from web hosting providers are trusted and authorised. So, you have to find a free web hosting provider that allows you to send emails. But, most of the free Web Hosts disable the Mail feature and do not allow the users to send emails. This is done just to avoid spamming. However all the paid hosting plans allow you to send any number of emails. Once you find a hosting service that allows to send emails from their servers, it’s just a cakewalk to send anonymous emails. All we have to do is just modify the email headers to insert the spoofed From address field into it.
I have created a PHP script that allows you to send emails from any name and email address of your choice. The script can be found here.
Anonymous Email Sender Script
Here is a step-by-step procedure to setup your own Anonymous Email Sender Script
1. Goto X10 Hosting and register a new account.
2. Download my Anonymous Email Sender Script (sendmail.rar).
3. Login to your FreeWebHostingArea Account and click on File Manager.
4. Upload the sendmail.php, pngimg.php and bg1.PNG files to the server.
5. Set permissions for sendmail.php, pngimg.php and bg1.PNG to 777.
6. Now type the following URL
http://yoursite.x10hosting.com/sendmail.php
NOTE: yoursite must be substituted by the name of the subdomain that you have chosen during the registration process.
7. Use the script to send Anonymous Emails. Enjoy!!!

I have a bed and breakfast and guest are been sent emails from me , Saying Regarding your stay open attachment what do i do

Sounds like someone is either spoofing your account or have actual access to your account. You need to contact the people who do your email as a start. Explain the problem and see if they will help, at least they can tell you when someone is logged into your account. If they are spoofing (sending email from somewhere else and putting your return address into the email) it could be more of a problem. Your mail supplier should be able to get you going in the right direction. This may end up being a Federal, as it occurs on the Internet. Check with your ISP.

Login to facebook and change your password immediately. Do not follow the email instructions, it could be a spoof email. Instead login to poker and change your password in the normal way.

I cannot access my password it keeps rejecting it and I'm not going to change, I'm running a bussness and need to check on my email NOW.

Sounds like you may have been hacked or spoofed. You can get on the website for hotmail or outlook or live mail and use the self help feature for this and get the password reset IF you have the answers to the secret questions or you linked it to your phone OR you have it linked to another email account.

Ive recieved a junk email asking me to update my account but if i click a link to it or the log in link it says 'microsoft cannot display the webpage' is this spoof email?

yes, more then likely you are getting a spoof e-mail address where they are trying to trick you to log onto thier fake website, where they are just stealing your account information. I highly suggest going to paypal.com and changing your password, and hint questions on the account.

SOMEONE AS USED MY EMAIL ADDRESS HOW CAN I CLEAR THIS

Helen, they probably did NOT use your email account, even though you got an "undeliverable" email returned to you.
Your email address was "spoofed" and not compromised. It is nearly impossible to trace who spoofed it.

It is fairly simple to do, but I will not explain how (or why) it is done. Change your email account password and you will see that it will happen again, but nobody has access to your email account except you.

Received message"Account Locked"????

Look at the message headers or the link address in the email - lots of phishing email states that your account is "locked" and asks you to login - do not do that. It is someone trying to get usernames and passwords. Report this by forwarding the email to spoof@paypal.com
