View sonic computer screen was dropped and now when you turn it on the picture comes on and then it emits a high pitched sound and turns off. any suggestions?

Sounds like you may have broke at least one of the lamps . The high pitch sound you are hearing is the high voltage that goes to it .

The sound on my new LG M227WD is very tinny(high pitched). Have gone into MENU and AUDIO but cant find anything to help increase the Bass sound. Thanks for your help

That's funny, I always complain when things are too bassy. What ever happened to FLAT audio, full spectrum, where you can hear EVERYTHING? I think perhaps your monitor might be defective, 'cause I've not heard tinny audio for years. Can you listen to another monitor at the store where you purchased it to see if they are all this way? Anything in the instruction book to help guide you? Perhaps you can find reviews online which might give you some hints as how to proceed. I hope I have been helpful.

No sound when playing video

hi bearly,

this may be due to codec issues, there are special video and audio codecs needed to give sound to webbased films and videos.
try downloding k-lite codec pack or xp-codec install, reboot and try to access youtube again!

good luck

My 19 inch flat screen KOGI monitor occasionally makes a high pitch sound with a ripple effect distorting the image on the screen. What is the problem?

I have seen this type of problem on other brands of LCD monitors. The issue is either a bad solder joint on the high voltage backlight transformers or the transformer itself going out. The high pitched sound you are hearing is a high voltage spark. If you have a soldering iron and feel like opening your monitor then you may be able to repair it. Look for 2 identicle transformers these are the backlight ones. Resolder the connections on both units. While you have it open check for bad capacitors and replace any that may have been damaged by the transformers. You can see what the capacitors look like when they go bad at our web site:

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

Problem with DELL 2408WFP

I have similar problem.  I'm using the HDMI connection from my PC to the monitor and when I connect my audio out from the monitor I get hissing and popping sounds along with the audio.  It sounds pathetic, I also hear the music and audio along with the hissing and popping.
If I connect the audio to the back of the PC the sound is crystal Clear.  I am using Vista 64 bit with NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT video card.  Trying  to Google to see if others are are seeing the same problem.  I just got my monitor on Oct 6.

Screaming acer!

sometimes if the inverter board (the part that drives the backlight) has a cold solder joint on it, it can actually generate a high pitched resonating sound (aka a screaming squeal sound)

if it's under warranty, have the manufacturer correct the problem.

if not under warranty, retouch the solder points on the inverter board, or have a repair tech fix it for you.

Sound from monitor speakers distorted and high-pitched

Sounds like an inverter problem. If the power supply is internal replace the capacitors coming out of the voltage regulators. These are usually 1000mf and/or 470mf. If that doesn't do the trick look up the numbers on the 8-pin chips that drive the secondary transformers on the inverter to see if they are getting the right voltages.
Good Luck!

Buzzing sound coming from monitor speakers

Check your leads, chances are it's a faulty/dodgy lead coming from your macbook to the system.
