The quick answer is yes, it is possible to replace and you'll find a suitable plug here http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=43998

The question is, will you be able to fit the new plug yourself and the answer to that question is not so easy. USB plugs are multi connectors, which means there are several connection terminals associated with the plug. The wires will need to be soldered to the correct places and this would not be a job for someone without soldering experience. Computer mice are not expensive these days and you may fine it easier and cheaper to look for a replacement on eBay. Do also check the USB socket on the laptop too, just to make sure it has not been stressed too much.
Best wishes....

The thing that fits in the computer for the cordless mouse has broken, can I get replacement or do I need new mouse ?

Usually a whole new mouse/fob combination is purchased at a store as a set.
But, Logitech may sell the fob separately foir a lower cost.

I would check with Logitech to see if they would sell you the usb transmitter or fob for the mouse separately.

Look at the above website for examples of some 'receivers' for your mouse.

Key board not working ...batteries replaced.... mouse operates ok

You may have to make sure that the software for it is installed correctly and that the usb fob is inserted correctly.

Try to uninstall the software drivers for the keyboard and follow the instructions for reinstalling the keyboard along with the fob to make sure it can communicate with the computer.

Hope this helpe.

Belkin wireless travel mouse not connecting to Mac

If you have a usb extension cable try plugging it in so you can place it on a firm surface when you press the sync buttons. Have heard of some issues with activating both mouse and fob buttons at once because of difficulty in reaching the fobs sync button.
