Stitches cobble up; feed doesn't seem to work properly - sews in place and stops. Singer

I have the same problem, plus if I do actually get it to feed it will sew about 10 minutes and jam up solid, and it is a brand new machine, I have only used it twice, also the bobbin won't thread. From what I have seen on this site, I do believe it is just a poorly made machine.

Remove plate over feed dog, femove bobbin and bobbin casing. My guess is that you have debris, lint or a piece of fabric stuck in the works

How to move feed dogs under needle for singer 514

First, make sure the feed dogs are in the up position and NOT dropped for darning.

Second, check that the stitch length is set to at least a 2 or 2.5 to make sure the feed dogs will actually move the fabric a noticeable distance. The closer the stitch length is set to zero, the closer together the stitches will be until it will sew only in one place because the fabric will no longer advance.

The feed dogs need to move. They should actually rise, move toward the back of the machine, drop down, move forward to the position to again rise--this creates one stitch. If the fabric is not moving, then it is possible that your machine has not been cleaned and oiled recently. Old oil will dry and cause the moving parts to seize.

It was working now it seems to be frozen the needle part wont move

Foot feed stopped working

Manually turn the handwheel. Are the feed dogs still moving but remain below the sewing surface so they do not contact the fabric? Check to make sure the feed dogs have not been set to the darning function. Also set the stitch length to a 10-stitches per inch to see if that makes a difference.

Singer sewing machine

Only a sewing tech can tell you:

If the feed dog height is too low, you have to get it serviced.

It the feed dogs are worn out, you can buy them and put them on yourself, but the repair shop would probably attach a new set while you wait with no labor charge.

Singer advance

Check the feed dogs are in the right spot, when they move they should be just above the needle plate. If they aren't then your feed dogs are disengaged and you need to push the button or leaver that re-engages them. If the feed dogs are in the right place then you may have the wrong presser foot on the machine and will need to change the presser foot to one with a slightly longer shank.

Error Code E7 on Singer 6180

E7 means the machine has 'had enough' and that error flashes to let you know it needs a break. I found that out by trial and error and after phoning Singer as well.
