Need a replacment power cord. how do I order one?????

I'm not sure where to order an OEM cord, but if the cord is damaged between the unit and the plug, it can often be repaired and still be safe. It generally requires heat-shrink but(t)-connectors and/or a heat-shrink covering for the damaged insulation area. If you know anyone that has used those things, either in something mechanical or something electrical, the process is the same, and you could see if that person could look at the damage.

Where do you plug in power cord for toshiba 20 inch tv

The power cord for this model (MW20F51) appears to be permanently connected to the unit as on (the bottom of) p.11 of the manual, which you can find here
http://support.toshiba.com/support/modelHome?freeText=2841937
Simply pug the other of this lead into a mains point at the wall. It may be helpful for you read the manual before you do this, because it contains the set up information. You should save or print of the manual (there are 72 pages by the way) for reference if you not have a copy.

LOST POWER SUPPY CORED

Typically all the television power cables are all the same. They all have the three pronged outlet, with the three females ports. Its the same power cable as a desktop computer. So, if you have an extra one lying around, use that.

Plug in

You could open the TV up and follow the cord until you can find some kind of fraying or break in the cord or leads they are connected to. If it's the cable itself, you can solder them back together and wrap it in electrical tape. You just have to be careful about making sure the right wires are connected and that none of them are touching each other. Use the electrical tape to separate the wires so they don't short out and start a fire. If it's not the wire itself, then it's possibly the power supply it's connected to.

No power

Hello,

There are two problems which are common with the line cord on appliances. Don't overlook these really simple things when troubleshooting your vacuum cleaner - or fancy electronic equipment! If wiggling the cord has an effect, then the following are likely causes:

Repeated flexing results in the internal conductors breaking either at the plug or appliance end. If flexing the cord/squeezing/pulling results in the device going on and off, it is bad. If the problem is at the plug end, cut off the old plug a couple of inches beyond the problem area and replace just he plug. If the problem is at the appliance end, an entire new cordset is best though you can probably cut out the bad section and solder what remains directly to the mainboard.

In either case, observe the polarity of the cord wires - they will be marked in some way with a ridge or stripe. It is important that the new plug be of the same type (polarized usually) and that the cord is wired the same way.

The prongs do not fit snugly into older worn outlets. This can usually be remedied by using a pointed tool like an awl or utility knife to spread apart the pair of leaves often used to form each prong of the plug. If the prongs are made of solid metal, it may be possible to spread them apart - widen the space between them. Alternatively, get a 3 to 2 prong adapter just to use as an intermediate connector. Spread the leaves of its prongs. However, a new outlet is best.

Bad connections on the mainboard. As you flex the cord, it is also stressing the attachment to the mainboard and affecting some marginal solder joints.

It is important to deal with these symptoms as soon as possible as erratic power cycling can lead to much more serious and expensive problems down the road.
Good luck...

I need the pinout on the AC/DC power plug on the unit.

Here is the circuit I use (I removed the cover and traced the DC pins back to the board, but I haven't tested them yet)

I am using a standard AC cord plugged into the yellow contacts in the drawing, works great.

Power cord

Hi,

Have you tried Toshiba Phils? Perhaps tehy can help, here are their contact details should you need it.

Alternately, if you are anywhere near Gonzalo Puyat (formerly Raon) you can try bringing the AC adapter and try fitting replacement power cord readily available on most stores. Additionally, most electronics part stores carry generic/replacement power cords and one should fit.

There are some versions that uses the same power cord as that of a desktop PC.

If you need the entire power adapter with cord, pls try here or here. Incidentally, any power adapter rated at 12VDC output @ 4amps should also work, you just have to make sure the polarity of the crown plug matches the Toshiba.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
