Question about Philips GoGear SA261 MP3 Player
Every time I try to turn on my player it tells me there is a player problem, but when I plug it in my songs are on my pc. For some reason there not showing up when I turn on my mp3 player. I'm using Windows Media Player which is supposed to be compatable. Little Help Please, Thanks
You need to load the drivers and "gogear" has to appear in your synch list in WMP. Look into previous replies I have posted to find the software link. Copy all the music onto your hard drive so you can put it all back on using the synch feature.

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Sounds like one or more system files have been deleted or corrupted on the player, possibly by formatting the player from windows.
Install and run the Philips Device Manager and select the Repair / Restore option. Follow the on-screen prompts.
This will format the device and re-load the system files.
ALL FILES WILL BE DELETED FROM THE DEVICE. Back up files before restoring.

The way this philips go gear stores track information differs from a PC and therefore the transfer software has to do the conversion. For this reason only philips software will work. Windows media player has put the tracks on your player but your player is not seeing them. The only transfer software I have found to work is the philips edition of music match 9 that can be downloaded from http://www.support.philips.com/support/html/index_gb_en.html
or software called HDDmanager that can be downloaded from
http://www.litespeed.co.nz/hddmanager.htm you will need to install .net frameowrk 2.0 from microsoft to use this software. There is a link to this on the above site. I have recently installed HDD manager and really like it. I don't know of any software that works on vista at present.
