Re: Bit torrent 6.1.1. slow download speed in Thailand...
Hey, being behind a router is pretty much the same as being behind a firewall. You can not accept incoming requests. I'm not sure about utorrent but if you connect directly with the dsl modem, you won't have that problem. Hope this was helpful. P.S. also helps with other P2P networks....later

If the router is yours (and you have physical access to it:you can touch it), use a straightened paper clip to press the RESET it. After reset use username admin, and password admin. If that does not work, leave the password blank.
Once you enter the web interface open the administration tab and change the password.
Note: I did not give you the url of the web interface for the router. You will have to find it in the user's manual.
VPN connections are encrypted, this adds extra overhead to the connection and an extra place all data must route through.
Once connected to a VPN your speed is determined by the slowest connection between you and your end point (The site you're visiting, or the service you are using)
If your home / business connection is a 20mb but your VPN is a 1MB connection, then your speed is going to be less then 1mb once you connect through the VPN.
Encrypted traffic is usually a bit slower, however if you feel speeds are far slower then they should be, you will need to contact the vpn service provider and see if any settings in your VPN software can be changed to speed things up.
you can use some steps to maintain good speed or increase download speed if it's very slow than normal speed. >Reset the modem or router everyday twice >use anti virus software and internet security protection >You can install torrent for downloading and uploading anything >You can use latest Browser for browsing..Opera,Google Chrome,Mozilla Firefox are best browsers.. >Avoid Multiple Downloading These will helps to speed up your downloading,Uploading speed. Port forwarding only applies when you have a router. You're on a PC with a direct link to internet. So... there must be a software firewall, like the one in windows? disable it. Try again... I'm not familiar with nokia 5310... does it create a lan connection? or is just like some other regular modem?! maybe your operator is blocking that kind of traffic.
