Question about Projection Televisions

1 Answer

Sony KP-51WS510, standby led blinks 5 times (suite)

Sorry to have waited that long to respond to you but I was trying some solutions that people purposed to me. However, none of them didn't work. I have changed the tripler (HV Block) and the D board and still the TV is shutting of itself 5s after power up. How can I check that 1K circuit (keep in mind the quick shutoff after 5s ) that you're talking about and how to troubleshoot the picture tube. Because, I don't know how many picture tubes have problems. Thanks for your assistance!

Try to turn on, it turns off right away and the stand by light flashes 6 times

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Standby/Timer light blinking 6 Times means no Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, and so the set goes to the blinking self-diagnosis function immediately. You’ll need to open the back off the TV and check C515 & 516 and the jungle IC, IC206. Also check +5 line is overloaded (A, B boards), +5 line is shorted (A, B boards). Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

2004 Sony 52" Wega dont turn onnthe stand by light stays flashing. This TV first started by taking long to turn on and now and then would turn off until one day it just didnt turn on and the standby button...

When that model Sony shuts down the LED starts blinking as you say but it is telling you something because it blinks a certain number of times and then pauses and repeats the number of blinks. Count the number and then I might be able to help you narrow down where the trouble is.

Sony kp-51ws510 tv blinking light 6 flashes on timer/standby

6 blinks on your model means the +5V line is either overloaded or shorted on the A or B board. You can get replacement boards at the following link and they will assist you in determining which board of the two you actually may need.

Trouble code: Standby LED blinks 9 times

Try pushing the buttons on the remote and let me know what comes up on the screen if anything.
Display, Channel, 5, Vol Minus, ( Not plus ) then Power. This brings up
a screen with a list of the problems and number of times they have occurred.
Each of the problem names is abbreviated as, "OCP", "OVP", "V STOP", ETC.
We have repeated them in parentheses in the text for the "Blinks" described
above so you can correlate between the diagnostic screen and the blink
codes.

eight blinks means, "High-voltage error" and the probable cause location listed is, "T8005 is faulty (D board)". T8005 is the fly-back transformer assembly.
