Question about Toshiba 42H83 42" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
When i switch tv on in morning after a few minutes it keeps turning off with the screen turning blue and no sound and it stays like that for a few seconds and then the picture returns but only for a few seconds. i am really distressed please can you help me. wait to hear from you. i tryed switching tv off from main switch and then back on again but no luck iv tryed to switch sky system on and off but still no luck, iv even changed all the old scart sockets with new ones but no change.
MMMM Hard call here. The fact that it does try to come on blue maybe an indication that the power supply regulator circuit is good. It could also be a shorted blue tube and when it comes on its overloading the screen drive and the set goes into overload protection shutdown. The real way to see Would be to pull off the blue crt socket as well as the Hi Voltage lead on the crt and see if the set comes on without blue. If it does Your gonna need a pict tube. If it dosent then troubleshooting along the switched power supplys would be neccassary.. BUT I advise you THAT IF YOU HAVE NO EXPERIENCE TROUBLESHOOTING TV SETS PLEASE SEEK A PRO TO ASSIST YOU AS THERES VERY HIGH VOLTAGE INSIDE THESE SETS EVEN IF THEY ARE UNPLUGGED. GOOD LUCK

First, try another video source, such as a dvd or vcr directly into the video input. do you still get the same problem? if so, it is the tv, if not, then it's your sky system (satellite receiver?)

SOURCE: Power light flashing/ no picture
I have the same problem. The only way to get the TV to come on is to unplug it, but once you get it back on it turns itself off again in a few minutes.
