Cable connector broke off at solder for GE 27GT722

Movers broke off my cable connector on the tv. The main piece was still attached to the cable plug. I can push it back in to the hole, and the cable works fine. How do I fix this without having to take it to a repair shop that wants to charge 150? My friend knows how to solder and has the stuff to do with it. Do you have step by step instructions on how to go it?

Re: Cable connector broke off at solder for GE 27GT722

Common problem Order 215543 from a company such as Union Electronics..1-800-648-6657 Use only the orginal, the replacement melts to quicky from the heat of the solder. They don't have a minimum order. Also make sure all the tuner shield grounds are resoldered. Be careful. easy to solder short.

Brought a GE model 27gt722 tv...can not pick up all channels on cable. Usually once you hook up cable wire to tv cable is automatically on least that is how it was on old tv

Depending on the cable company, some like Comcast have gone mostly digital meaning when you connect the TV directly to cable without a cabe box you will only get around 35 channels. The only way to get around that is to get a cable box. If you have Comcast service already they offer what they call a DTV cable adaptor which will allow you to get most cable channels. These DTV adaptors in most areas are free for the first two per household. I hope that helps : )

There's a piece missing to connect the croaxial cable where do i find it and what's the name of t?

Some of those cable connectors are attached to the tuner assembly, you would find it under that name TV Tuner or Varactor tuner, now the connector itself is sometimes available, but you would need to install it or solder it to the tuner assembly, this connector usually is called an F type connector. Try the for the price and availability of the tuner assembly and for the f type connector.

I got a sanyo tv model DS31590 that the cable fitting is broken off i got two more with the same problem how can i fix it without changing the main board at the cost of a new Tv

As long as the tuner that the connector plugs into is not bad/broken then you can re-attach the connector by soldering it to the casing
file or sand both surfaces before soldering and attach a cable to the connector to help dissipate heat while soldering(so the plastic center of connector is not melted) I some times use cold spray (a can of computer duster turned upsidedown) to cool the joint quickly, immeadiatly after soldering.
Good surface preperation and a hot soldering iron (45W or more) are key to doing a good job

Broken cable connector in the back of JVC tv

if the remaining piece was not part
of the PC board , which is light yellow
theres a good chance with a soldering iron
and a new female coax from radio shack
you could do it . or pay a shop 75.00 to
reinstall one for you.

Cable connection in back of GE 27GT271 TV broke. I would like to know what this part is called, and how to remove it. also where can I buy a new one. thank you very much.

IF cable connector, you will need a solder iron to remove and solder new connector in. Go to part # 215543R / RCA connector cost thirty-nine cents. Call 1-800-223-3205

Main cable connector broke off back of TV

Maybe so. Sometimes the connector is fed by an RCA connector which just plugs in inside the TV and sometimes it needs a little solder work. Sometimes you have to solder on the circuit board and if it's a multi-layer board you want an expert to do it but from the manual it doesn't look like that is the case with your TV.
I'm pretty sure Radio Shack stocks such connectors with maybe a little hardware to get the fit right.

Cable Connector inside TV

Unless you know how to sholder well and know how to do an isolation test on the set after its repaired I would let a pro do it My friend as I've seen it a hundred times. A peep will simply hook up a connector to the set and ground the connector or what looks like a ground and as soon as that set is pluged into an ac outlet and a cable or sat line is attached KAPOWWWWEEYYY.. It smokes and you end up blowing out the bridge rectifiers aong with all sorts of things. Now dont get me wrong please as you can repair set if and only if you wanna take that chance by simply taking a piece of coax cable with a connector on one end and soldering the center wire onto the broken wire that came off the connector and then soldering the outside or sheild wire to the place where the broken connector was attached if at all possible BUT I repeat this is not a good way to do this. Good luck
