Question about Samsung LT-P227W 22 in. HD-Ready LCD Television

1 Answer

Menu Mode My LT-P227W refuses to go into Menu mode from either the remote or from the local button on the top of the unit. As a result, and since I am over the air free tv watcher, I can not retune to any new or old channels making the set useless even if I move it from one to another room of the house. I repowered the set several times and after waiting several minutes in between, I looked for any consumer reachable "reset", but luck. So, I decided to pay and called Samsung. They immediately recommended i mailed them the unit, but could not give me any info on how they would charge (per hour, per problem, ...). Upon asking them to connect me with their service to just take couple minutes of their time, the number I called ended up being routed back to Samsung (it was their East Coast third party that I was supposed to reach). So, anyone, please help. Yes, I can hold a screwdriver and can open the unit to look for the solution you provide. THANKS! nisava@aol.com I called Samsung who connected me to

PRESS THE DTV / TV BUTTON TO GET TO THE MENU MODE.

You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information

http://www.freeview.co.uk/_retuneinfo/

If the above process does not work then check the link above for additional information and also visit the accompanying site links below to find more information for your model of TV / FREEVIEW box.

Resetting the TV
If the buttons on the remote AND the buttons on the TV case do not work (channels do not change and you cannot open or navigate the menu), the TV has stopped responding. Reset the TV as follows:

Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time.

Sounds like you just need to change your display mode, look on the remote for a button that says zoom, also in your display menu with your remote, there also should be a setting that allows you to switch from standard widescreen etc. choose full screed or wide screen mode that should get you back to full screen, please keep me posted I would be glad to Trouble shoot this issue until resolved.

Waiting on a remote(since we purchased TV in DECEMBER!) Missing from box!! Stuck on home mode or store mode - soooo frustrating with no remote!!

HI, it is possible to operate most of any flat screen t.v.'s function using buttons on t.v. These are marked as follows: + and - are for volume and when in the menu for either moving up/down or to the left and right, the < and > are to change the Channels ( also used in menu mode to scroll either up and down or to the left and right ), then you should have a button marked INPUT, maybe A/V this switches between your sources ( the t.v.'s tuner,cable,sat,p.c. input, dvd, aux, hdmi, and so forth, then you have a power button and last but not least the MENU button to adjust it. also if you have a remote for a cable/satellite box with a manual it may be able to operate an APEX( pretty common actually ) if no manual for said remote-cable/satellites customer service have been know to help quite readily. I hope this has been of some help, good luck, Prodzilla

Dont know how to channel search with remote

Do these steps using the remote: Power TV on. Press Input button and < or > to be sure you're looking at TV and not HDMI1 or something. Press Menu button and > to the 4th (I think) menu, where top two items are: Tuner Mode and Auto Scan. You ought to be able to start an auto scan with those. It takes a while, maybe ten minutes to finish, so be patient.

T.V. won't allow me to adjust color and sound...

Chepe_77,

You are absolutely correct. The reason why you cannot change your audio and video settings are due to the fact that you are in "Dynamic Fixed". Which is one of your many av modes. Av modes are different preset color settings and dynamic fixed is the only one that will lock your settings. Best Buy set it that way so that people could not just come by and alter the settings on the unit. AV modes are on all sharp lcd products and even though you have the wrong remote you should have an av mode button on the remote that came with it. Try pressing the av mode button and see what happens. When you press the av mode button, you will see your av modes change at the bottom of the screen. However, the issue still remains that you have the wrong remote. So there is a chance that you may press the av mode button on the remote that you have, but it still will may not work ONLY because you have the wrong remote. If the remote you have does not work, I GUARANTEE that pressing the av mode button on the proper remote will take care of that. If you dont want to purchase the remote from sharp, www.partstore.com is a good place. Good luck to you
