Question about Kodak EASYSHARE 5300 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

5300 Ron - I have an under a year old 5300, I've tried the deep cleaning feature(more than once), changing out ink cartirdges.......and I'm getting no to bad prints. This is the case on all colors including black. It acts almost like the head won't allow ink flow or something. I print quite often so I can't believe the head dried up ?? Any suggestions ? Thanks

I have the same problem I'm getting very faded prints on all colors I haven't used the printer in about a month but I have used the deep clean and basic clean several times with no luck.

My 5300 started printing very light images. Head cleaning, calibration and ink replacement didn't help. I called Kodak support and a new print head is on the way. I was told that the new head will be a redesigned model that should cure the problem.

Kodak 5300 printer: I just changed the black ink but it is printing as though there is no black ink. Ihave tries calabrating, cleaning, deep cleaning, etc. It says there is a full cartridge of ink.

From what i understand with the kyocera colour printers theres a menu option to print black as black opposed to a combination of the colours. I'm not too sure where it is, however it sounds like the kodak is very simular and is using the colours to create black instead of using the blank ink cartrage.

Kodak 5300 prints light or not at all color does better

to resolve the problem try to clean the printhead first, to clean the printhead just press on the menu button, select clean printhead, select deep clean.
After you clean the printhead try to re-calibrate the printhead, just go back to the menu the select calibrate printer then select print calibration page. Once you have the calibration sheet, place it on top of the scanner make sure that the blue arrow on the printout is pointing on the yellow arrow located on the top corner of the scanner glass then press on the start button to scan the calibration page. Once the calibration is complete try to make a test print, just go back to the menu then select print demosheet then press ok. If this will not correct the problem you need to call their technical support hotline

Kodak 5300 Series not a year old

try to do this first, try first to upgrade the firmware of your printer, by clicking help in your kodak AIO Home Center, then under General Links, click on maintenance, then under maintenance, click on firmware upgrade.

after the upgrade is complete, try to remove and then reseat both the ink cartridges. then calibrate your printer. and then clean the printhead deep clean. then print a demo page to see if there is any improvement in your printout.

but if your still experiencing the same problem
you can call to Technical Support of kodak 1-800-421-6699 7am to 12am ET

hope this will help

New ink cartridges

There is a Manual in the Home1.gif Center Software1.gif under help there is a link "User Guide" or it can be downloaded from Kodak. Here is a link for the manual download.

Kodak.com 5300 support link

Once you click the link above look for the "User Guide" below that pick the language you want. (while you are on the kodak site you can also get the new software and printer firmware to make sure everything is up to date)

If you dont have Adobe1.gif Reader you will need that to view the file you can get it free from here

Adobe Reader

Kodak did not include printed manuals to save money and its better for the environment (less waist).

As for the printing problem, If it is actually picking the pages and going through the motions of printing but the pages come out blank, you can try running the printhead cleaning. From the control panel on the front of the printer use the arrow keys to navigate through the menu to find maintenance and press OK button. then scroll through and find clean printhead or printhead cleaning. try running the deep clean, then print. if it still does not print try running the cleaning a 2nd time. If it still does not print you need to call kodak customer service and go through them to get a new printhead.

I hope your able to get your printer printing again!

Kodak 5300 aio printer won't print black

It is the print head. Cleaning the heads does not do any good, either does replacing the ink. What you'll need to do is contact Kodak's customer service line and they can replace it for you free of charge. On this site everyone seems to be saying it is consistently the black that stops, however, based on what Kodak said it is possible that either the black or the color can have this same issue.

When you call in they will ask you for your service number, which is located on the bottom left corner of the machine, when you lift the lid (as if you were going to replace the ink). They didn't ask me when I bought it, how much I used it, etc.

They will set up a case for you - it takes 2-3 business days for the print head to arrive. They will provide you with an invoice number as well. Be sure to document it all just incase the head never comes, or if there are additional issues after you receive it (and/or if it doesn't solve the problem)
