Shutdown after 15 minutes

If it seems to boot and run normal for the first 10 to 15 minutes then powers off it is probably a thermal issue. If this is the case, most of the time you will have to wait 5 or 10 minutes before it will turn back on. ( Not always depending on the part, some cool very quickly.)
The first thing you should check is the fan on the cpu. If it is running normally make sure that the heat sink is seated securely. Also make sure any other fans are running correctly.
Another possibility for a heat problem is airflow in and around the computer case. Make sure that all the vents have a couple of inches of open space around them to draw air in and out or the case. If the computer is in a cabinet make sure that adequate cool air can get to it and that the heat can get out.

RAM Problem in intel D915GLVG mainboard

Most likely the pc400 hynix is incompatible with the mother board, or with the memory you are leaving in place. Try using just the pc400 sticks, if you still get system beeps then you are using incompatible memory. You should go to centon, or other memory manufactures wesbsite and look up what is compatible with the mother board and get that memory for the system. My bet is going to be pc3200 memory.

Hope this helps

After unit is on several minutes, sound turns to static, crackling noise. Any ideas

I had this same problem, check the power transistors attached to the heat sink near the large caps, they tend to get cold solder joints after lots of heating and cooling. 15 minutes and good soldering iron will probably make a huge difference. I added extra cooling fins to mine to help dissipate the heat. hopefully wont go bad real soon again. Also check the large caps while your in there, maybe a good time.

About upgrade my graphics memory

Your Intel D915GLVG has a integrated PCIExpress built into the board. Your system memory is shared with the built in video card. This board's memory can handel up to 4GB of system memory which up to 512MB can be shared from your system memory. If you wanted to disable the integrated 915GL Express Chipset with Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 900. You would be left with two PCI slots. Running a PCI video card is slower than a AGP card & two notches down from a PCIExpress card.
So in order for you to acheave what you want your going to have to increase your system memory. If you still have your manual the specifactions for your memory is on Pg. 9.
The link below is a list of supported memory from Intel.
If you no longer have your manual you download it from this link:
Though you can check aound. I can suggest this mamory which will give you 2GB dual matched memory that is within your boards specifications. Listed at this link.
You will still have two memory slots free to upgrade to a total of 4Gb at a later date. So please do not disable your current video card. Please use your manual when installing memory. Two Dimms go into certain slots on the D915GLVG board.
please vote....
