Question about Westinghouse 19" Widescreen Flat Panel LCD Monitor

1 Answer

L1928NV When the monitor is first powered up, it will work fine for about ten minutes. The screen will then go blank. When you cycle power, the screen will illuminate again, but for only a few seconds. I believe the problem is heat related. Any ideas on what part is causing the problem?

My monitor is having the same problem. It is less than a week old, and worked fine for 2 days, then the screen went black. Powering off and on again, the screen stays on for 2 or 3 seconds, then goes black again. I purchased this Westinghouse L191HW from Best Buy and will be returning it tomorrow.

The problem on monitors when this happens is usually a powerboard problem in which the capacitors are failing due to age and use. Once in a while a transistor goes bad, but since it does run for a bit, it should be your capacitors.
If you can take it apart, these are usually noticable, If you send or post a picture, I may be able to tell.

My samsung syncmaster 920nw picuture goes blank after a period of a couple of minutes. If I turn the power off and then back on the picture re-appears but goes off again. It is not he pc since it works...

If you get a flashing screen which show your screen for few minutes and then goes blank it may be an issue with the Monitor.

Try to restart the computer and go to BIOS setup screen. If you experience the same issue in BIOS then the monitor needs a repair or replacement for sure.

Monitor keeps going blank, then once this a.m. it cycled in colors, white, red, green, blue, grey- very weird... what's up with that?

it's doing testing in color codes to refresh the color on the screen, if it keeps going blank, that's usually a sign of monitor going bad.

Asus Monitor boes blank and comes back after power recycle

1. You can see images on the screen for a few minutes. That means there is nothing wrong with your computer.

2. When your screen goes blank, if you disconnect and then reconnect the monitor, it shows fine again for a few minutes before going blank (or dim) again. That means the problem is not with you video card.

3. It always shows the image after reconnection for exactly a few minutes before going blank again. yes? this means that there is nothing wrong with your cable.

Conclusion: Sorry, but you do not have many options. I bleieve that the problem is with your monitor that's going bad. Its far cheaper to get it replaced than to repair it.

DEAD SCREEN

Disconnect completely computer and display form power cable for ten minutes, plug them back and restart ().This is called hard reset.
If you still have the problem try checking the display video cable, both in the monitor and computer socket.
If it still does not work connect PC to a different monitor, just to test that is not the pc or the video card the problem.
If it still does not work the blackout may have caused a short in your monitor or a system failure on pg then get back here and post the new problem.

HP mx 70 Monitor

This is a problem usually with the Power Supply unit inside the Monitor. Often it is the Electrolytic Capacitors arround the Heatsink area. They dry out and go faulty.. It is generally a job for the "Shop" I get them all the time... But in saying that intermittent faults are the hardest to find.. If you do take it to a shop, ensure you get a firm "Quote" and explanation B4 proceeding.
