Question about Whirlpool 24 in. DU850DWG Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

DWF 413 dishwasher

This is a built in (under counter unit)type 12137. Purchased from swedish furniture store. 450mm in width. It has 4 settings. The problem I have is that I started a wash cycle as normal & about 3 -4 hrs later noticed that it was still going. I opened the door, stopped it & noticed the the water had not drained away. Upon emptying the dishwasher, I noticed that the water was dirty & greasy so I guessed thast it was blocked. I stripped all filters & removable arms ETC as per instruction book, cleaned everything & restarted it. Left it switched on for half - one hour (supposed to reset after 10 - 15 mins but nothing happened. I then checked the U bend to see if the was blocked but was clear. Why wont it reset itself? Does this meaen that the dishwasher itself is still blocked? or do I have anothe fault? please help as I/we are sick of washing dishes the old fashioned way!

No, I havenot checked the pump. Not sure how to. Would I need to remove the dishwasher from under the counter? As the machine does not reset, there is no way I can check to see if it pumps out any water. Thanks, 68bug

O.K., I think that the pump is cleared/unblocked but the dishwasher still won't reset itself as per instruction manual: Quote "if you open the door during the wash cycle, you must wait at least 1 min, with the door ajar before starting the dishwasher again. If the dishwasher is stopped during the wash cycle, when started again it resumes the wash cycle from where it was interupted."
This is where I am stuck. Is there a manual override so that I can reset it to try the wash programme again? the end of cycle light is not on & it did not buzz as it would normally.?

O.K., I used a wet n dry vaccum cleaner & sucked out water from the waste pipe. I then removed the plug form wall socket as you suggested. Let it out overnight. I replaced the plug & switched it on. I tried a different setting but did not work. I then tried the original program that it stopped working on. It did not work. I then poured water into the dishwasher just above the filter. I then sucked out the water from the drain hose. This emptied the dishswasher & I hoped that it would clear any blockage. I then repeated the programs, did not work. I then poured water into the dishwasher, switched it on using the original program & it worked! however, it did not empty itself, just swished the water around the dishwasher, left this running for 1 - 2 hrs. Then swiched off. I have guessed now that it must be a dead pump? I have not removed the dishwasher yet.
Do you think the the problem is a non working pump? if so how easy are they to change & wher is it located?
    Thanks again.

I have now changed the outlet (drain) pump. It will not reset itself & it will not end the cycle that it is on. I have tried all suggestions but still exactly the same fault exists.

As an extra to above, I have taken the cover off the electronics to see if there are any loose or damages wires. I could not find any. However, there are 3 round plates with wires attached I guess some kind of sensors?? these touch the cover plate next to the tablet & rinse boxes these are loose - should they be?
also if I empty the dishwaher manually, & refill it manually apprx 3ltrs of water to do this, (it fills just over the salt container lid) the machine will empty most of the water out. It will then continue to cycle the remaining water around & around the machine it will heat the water but not take in any water?

What about the pump, did you checked it ? Does it drains water out the machin ?

You should have at least (for the beginning) an access to the drain line output, and to see if water come out.
If needed, you should remove the dishwasher from under the counter.
    Good luck !!

Does the dishwasher drained the water out ?
To reset the machine, try to take out its power cable and reconnect it back after 1-2 minutes.
In case you still have water in tub, find the way to drain it out manually and start a new cycle.
Let us know if it solve your problem.
    Good luck !!

DOES JENN AIR HAVE A REST BUTTON, MY DISHWASHER WONT START. MODEL NUMBER JDB4000AWS

first of all if its a built in dishwasher under counter by the sink, check for a switch as you may have inadvertentally switched this switch off or unknowingly bumped it with something under the sink, then if it has power to the unit, there is a built in fuse on the control board
