I'm using Word 2003. The side scroll bar is taking me straight to Find & Replace instead of to the next page - what have I done? And how do I undo it? Sheila

Yup! There's an arrow at the top, which scrolls up, and one at the bottom which scrolls down. Below that, there are 3 buttons, which used to take me up and down one page, but now take me straight to Find/Replace!

On those three buttons on the bottom....click the middle one. The round one.

12 small icons appear. Click on the one that says "Browse by Page".

Problem solved.

Hello
This problem of your computer is not due to mouse, i believe your computer is responding slow due to some reasons:
1. Lot of application installed on it, do uninstall software you dont want. 2. Clean the temporary file from your computer 3. Check and Remove hard disk errors 4. Check and clean virus/spyware
You can get helps from this web site as well http://www.microsoft.com/atwork/maintenance/speed.aspx

Schematics for motherboards can be different but most have a series of pins that those plugs are plugged into. Here is a link that will guide you through the process. The pins are labeled POWER/LED/SPEAKER if you look closely. Hope this helps.

S7310n disassemble

This is HP Support, and the download page for the Upgrading and Servicing Guide,

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=1156509&

On this page scroll down to - Upgrading and Serving Guide, and left-click on it.
(Second file listed)

This is a PDF file download. The computer you are using has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files.

After you click on the Upgrading and Servicing Guide, file name, you will Not see anything happening for up to 30 seconds, or so.

Be patient, as the file is downloading in the background.

The Upgrading and Servicing Guide tells you, and shows you, how to open the computer case. (Page 7)

Barring that you are not able to download this PDF file, I will attempt to tell you how to open the computer case. (If you are using a Dial Up network connection, you may be as old as me, before the file downloads)

1) Computer off unplug the power cable FROM the surge protector. (Not shouting)
THEN unplug the power cable from the back of the computer. (Power Supply)

Now unplug all cables connected to the computer.

2) Lay the computer on a towel on top of a table. Keeps the table, and the computer from being scratched.
Lay the computer on it's Right side. (Computer facing you, the right side is to the right. Hey, don't laugh, lol!)

Loosen and remove the three computer cover screws, on the back of the computer's case.

The computer cover that removes is an L shape. It comes down the Left side from the top, and wraps under the bottom.

Looking at the Top/Back of the computer, there is a screw to remove on the Top, of the Left side of the computer case. (Top/Left side corner)

Looking at the Bottom/Back of the computer, there is a screw to remove from the Bottom, of the Left side.
(Bottom/Left side corner)

Looking at the Bottom/Back of the computer, there is a screw to remove from the Bottom, of the Right side.
(Bottom/Right side corner)

After these three screws are removed, the Left side of the computer cover is slid back about 1/2 inch, (1.25cm), and lifted straight up.

BEFORE you reach inside! (Not shouting)

Your body carries STATIC electricity.
Static can fry out, (Short Circuit), the hardware components inside the computer.

TOUCH the metal frame of the open computer case, to relieve your body of Static electricity.
If you get up, walk away, then return, Touch the metal frame again.

Now, do you wish to disassemble this desktop computer completely, or just remove, and replace a few hardware components?

The above Upgrading and Serving Guide from HP Support tells you, and shows you,

1) How to remove, and replace the computer cover

2) How to remove, and replace Ram Memory

3) How to remove, and replace an optical drive.
(CD/DVD Drive)

4) How to remove, and replace a PCI card, that is in a white PCI expansion slot, on the motherboard.

5) How to remove, and replace the CMOS battery

6) How to remove, and replace a Harddrive

Should you need further disassembly guidance, let me know in a comment.

My Gateway 838GM keeps freezing up

When you do get the pc to start do a disk cleanup, by right clicking the c: drive and going into properties in my computer and put a tick next to all of the boxes and hit next to delate them all. Once that has finished defrag the drive, this can be found in the start bar, programs, acessories, system tools. When that is finished go to start bar in the run or search text bar type cmd to open a command prompt window, and type chkdsk c:/f and press enter, it want do anything straight away and will ask you if you would like it to start it the next time the computer boots type "Y" for yes and exit the command prompt. Before restarting the system goto my computer, c: drive , windows , then scroll down until you see a folder named prefetch, open the folder and sellect all, highltight one file by a single left click on it and prees "ctrl"then "A" this highlights everything, hold the shift button down and press delete to delete the entire folders contence, once done reboot the pc. post back if this helps.cheers.

What video driver do you use in Acer Aspire SA80 with SiS FX/GX Mirage Graphics

The SiS driver that Acer offers for the Aspire SA80,

http://support.acer.com/drivers_download.aspx

On this page under,

A) Select Product Family
Left-click on Desktop

B) Select Product Line
Left-click on Aspire

C) Select Product Model
Scroll the side bar down, Left-click on Aspire SA80

There are Three VGA drivers listed. You won't see the 3rd one, SiS, until you scroll the side bar down.

VGA SIS VGA Driver 6.14.10.3680
14.6MB 2008/12/10

Left-click on the orange square to the left of this driver file name.
(Has a white down arrow pointing to a line)

A small window will come up.
Opening VGA_SIS_6.14.10.3680_Xpx86.zip

Left-click on the empty circle to the left of - Save File
(If it does not already have a green dot in it)

Now go below, and click on OK.

I suggest you save the file, instead of opening it directly. It is a Zip file, and you may not have an Unzip program on your computer, to 'Unzip' it.

(Zip file is a condensed file. Used to send large files over the internet. You have to un-condense the file, or Unzip it)

If you do not have an unzip program I suggest download 7-Zip. It's free.

Go to the place the Zip file downloaded to.
Either My Documents, or on your desktop screen.
(Start>My Documents. Could also be in a sub-folder of My Documents>Downloads)

Double-click on the file name. (Be sure you have an Unzip program installed before you do)

Follow the simple instructions of the unzip program.
