The infocus only use their own special kind of input/output plug for the power source along with other connections on it. You have to either purchase it off of there or potentially find a possibly used one for a good deal. They are very select with whole sells some of those products and some times are sold out really fast when they become in stock. Its almost like a supply and demand.

I know we can not tell people where to buy stuff on here since it can be seen as spam, but since you have asked I'd strongly advice to check out justlamps.com they are GREAT with not only lamps but accessories and other OEM products.

good luck! Let me know how things go for your projector.

I have a Focus 4805 projector, that i rarely used, however has now apporx 7 vertical stripes through the picture, colours seem ok, but cannot find anything in instructions to remedy it. can anybody help...

you can try giving a good slap 3 inches behind the lens for an unlikely long term fix or you can take the projector apart and reseat the main board to the light engine. However most likely the dmd on the light engine is bad.

4805sp runs 4 or 5 minutes then shuts down

could be the fan should be running to cool the lamp. there could be temperature sensor that is why it is shutting down to save your lamp.

check the fan if it has continuity. it could be broken and need to be replaced.

tnx 4 using fixya,

Powering On
  • If your InFocus 4805 projector is having a hard time powering on or doesn't power on at all, it could be one of two things. Due to the extreme temperature of the lamp that causes the temperature of the projector to rise, every InFocus 4805 projector has a cooling system. Check your projector's cooling solution, as it may need to be replaced. Also check the projector's fan---if the fan doesn't spin, the unit will not turn on. If the problem is the fan, you'll have to get it replaced. You can do this at the same place you bought your projector.
  • The Lamp
  • If your InFocus 4805 Projector powers on but does not project any light, the lamp will need to be replaced. All projector lamps must be replaced at some point---how often usually depends on how much use the device gets. Simply order a replacement lamp, unscrew the old one and screw the new one in. The projector will then work like new.
  • Color Wheel
  • If your InFocus 4805 projector powers on and is displaying images but the colors on the images appear warped or are not in the proper places, your "color wheel" will need to be replaced. The color wheel is a small device that essentially acts like a prism. Light is projected through it and it displays the appropriate colors on screen the way they appear in the original video source. Order a replacement color wheel that fits your model and use your instruction manual as a guide as you swap the old one out and put the new one in.

    Hello David,
The best way to find the best price is to do some hunting/research. Google "infocus 4805 lamp"
and wade through to find the best price.
You will find instructions on the lamp replacement procedure in the manual. If you dont have the user manual browse to www.projectorcentral.com and search infocus 4805 and on their spcifications page there is a "user manual" Acrobat PDF icon.
click on the icon to open the manual in pdf format

    Take Care!

    Fan replacement

Im sure noone has written out instructions. I can offer some advice. I have a dell 2300mp dlp projector which is similar.

Take your time. if you start tugging on the case when taking it apart you can break things inside very easily. group your screws with other like screws and mentally note or use a label to know where they went in the projector. Make sure to remove the bulb before working on it. That bulb is almost worth more then projector and is VERY fragile. store in a safe place while working on it. While you have it apart use canned air to blow out the inside.

hope this helps.. sorry i couldnt be more detailed.

    Projector will not power on

Check your cooling solution wether its a fan malfunction or if it needs a new fan - or h20 cooling system

if not its either the power supply or something serious - send it to manifacture or go to a in-store repair

(it could be the dust protector)

Sounds like focus is out. These projectors are like cameras; they have an optic with a focus ring. Try rotating the focus. Some have electronic focus as well. If the manual focus does solve the problem, look through the menu for a focus setting adjustment.
