I am going to resolder the flyback, but what is? and where is the small signal board?? And would that need to be replaced or repaired?

I am attaching a picture of the flyback whicch is the large transformer which is on the far left side and has the thick red wire coming out its top. The small signal board is the large green board on the right side with all of the inputs on it. The small signal board is a sensitive board and requires professional tools (Chipper Check interface )to diagnose and repair. But the flybacks are famous for failing. the flyback is circled in the picslinteriors_15.jpg

Projection TV, Sound but no Picture

If this Tv is a model year 1996 or 1998, It is quite possible your vertical IC needs resoldered. It is located on the small signal board. This board [quite large anyway] is the board on the left. I don't know the location off hand. The IC has seven pins and located on a heatsink, It is a TDA series. Resolder any and all grounds you see. May as well get the Large Signal board [On the right] resoldered. The other problem would be the P I P board, a small board standing up, that can be removed and replaced. But try the earlier first. This is tedious, but will produce results.

We have a Mitsubishi DLP and the timer light is flashing on and off and I cannot turn the power on or off on the TV

Bad signal board, DM module and or formatter board. Try replacing the signal board first. About 50% of my fixes with flashing timer LED was solved by signal board replacement. If this doesn't work, then try replacing the formatter board. And if still don't work, then DM module must be replaced.

Mitsubishi don't have a real answer behind these failures. I know and I've tried. Do have two of them just came in my possesion for repairs. One has same problem and just put in order for new signal module.

6 slow and 1 fast blink error on this model is vertical sweep failure. vertical ic's are located on large signal board. to verify error is correct would recommend disconnecting 1516 6 pin connector on lsb to msb as sometimes that board causes shutdown issues and if no change reconnect and disconnect crt anode leads going into hv generator and if no change replace large signal board

My picture is off coler and the picture is cloudy

The large signal board has nothing to do with the problems caused by contaminated coolant. The coolant cost about 10 dollars a bottle . Labor charges for a tech could be anywhere from 200 to 600 depending on the integrity of the repair shop. Most wont do it they will want to replace the tubes.

Yes i need more help on these opto-couplers

The halo effect is due to the green and blue CRT coolant being congealed this is a common problem. Red will not have the same condition. As for the opto-couplers they are located on the large signal board in the middle of the board all lined up in a row they will have board location numbers of 7412, 7406 and 7413 . 7412 is usually the culprit the part numbers for 7412 is 9322-105-14682 7406 and 7413 are the same part number 9338-894-15682
