Style engines have timing chain covers that are sealed to the engine block using a gasket. With time this gasket can become weak allowing engine oil to leak. If after inspection this is the case with your engine, the only remedy is to disassemble and remove the timing chain cover to replace the gasket.
Top should read Timing chain style engines. hope this infor will be of use

How do I reset my timing on a 2001 lexus gs 300?

You must go back and remove the timing belt to re-align the marks for the cam and crank. There is no other way to adjust.

Possibly, but another cause could be your voltage regulator in your alternator. Hope this helps.

2003 lexus gs sound like timing belt or water pump. Today leaked small amount of what appeared to be transmission fluid

Depending on the milage, I think you may have both going back, take to auto zone for free diagnosis.

Need to service 2001 gs 300 with 140k miles

wait a sec. Are any of these currently giving the vehicle challenges??? No reason to replace water pump until it needs to be replaced. If you have a 100K on the odometer, I would run with plugs/wires/fuel and air filter/ and the serpentine belt compared to the timing.
