My mic not working

Check the Device Manager to see if it's listed as well as the driver is installed. Or check the properties of the sound card and verify that the mic is not muted - double click the speaker icon at the lower right corner to check the settings.

Installed USB microphone, but NO sound.

select the device from control panel /sound and audio device / audio .../sound recording ...

if it doesnt work ...look for the device ( microphone ) on volume panel ( double click the speaker from the system tray ) if you do not see a volume for mic...click options..and check the microphone from there ...after that look out and be sure it s not muted...it has to work if it is proper installed..

My mic on D845GLAD board is not working

Hi!
It's very psssible that it is MUTED.
Go to the control panel and the sound icon. Open that to advanced and see if the muted is turned on.
You did not say if this was a headset or speakers. It would help if I knew it was the onboard sound or an add on.
Thanks!

No souned

check that you haven't muted the sound by accident. Look for a speaker icon in the task tray at the bottom of the screen on the right hand side. If it has a red circle with a line going through it, then it is muted. Click on it then click on the little blue speaker to turn off the mute.

If you have not got a speaker icon in the tray then go to control panel, sound and click double click on speakers then click on the blue speaker icon to turn the mute off. (For Vista)

Also make sure that the speaker wires are plugged in correctly on the back of the computer.

I bought a Logitech webcam and the sound won't come though. It states my input level is not high emough but I can't find it to change it please

My understanding is that a webcam is only a webcam not a webcam+mic (mic=microphone for sound to be input) unless your webcam has video and sound capabilities.

1. get a mic
2. if you webcam is supposed to be also a mic, (I have yet to see one of those myself) you should hook up the connector for the microphone (usually a a red trs plug/connector) to your pc.
3. make sure your have run the video/sound wizard of your instant message application to test your video, mic and speakers. (to see, talk and be heard and hear what the others are saying)

are you trying to hear what the other person is saying when having a video conversation?
1. check your speakers are properly connected, powered and turned on.
2. check your speakers (and mic aswell) are not muted (check your speaker icon on the system tray and check your volume controls by doing right and/or left click on the speaker icon on the system tray.
3. make sure your have run the video/sound wizard of your instant message application to test your video, mic and speakers. (to see, talk and be heard and hear what the others are saying)
4. make sure your sound adapter's drivers are installed and your device is working properly (check device manager by going to start>run> type devmgmt.msc the press enter and make sure that under sounds you don't have any ? (no drivers) or ! driver problem for your sound adapter.

I am a dj who uses a labtop. When i have my speakers all hooked up and i plug in my charger to the labtop i get feedback through the speakers. What do i do??

Mute your mic input on the laptop. Go into control panel from start and click on sound. There you will find the option to mute your microphone that is built in your laptop(the tiny little mic). The sound from your speakers is feeding back through the little bugger. LOL

Hope this helps you out and if you ever need more support feel free to contact me direct here under find an expert tab. I'll always help you free. Don't forget to rate me FixYa if this helps....

I cant seem to get my microphone to work I have a store bought mic that I have hooked up to a 1/4 to 1/8 reducer plugged into my 1/8 mic port and it wont seem to work

A simple mistake that I have made in the past is that the mic is turned off. Is there a switch on the mic, and if so, make sure it's on. :)

After that, check in your mixer (Usually a speaker icon in your system tray) and make sure the mic isn't muted, and the volume is up. Also, if you have a mic boost, enable it. Try screaming at the mic, sometimes it's working, but really quiet.
