My on/off switch has broken and it is floating around in face plate cover. How do I remove the cover where the fan speed, and on off buttons are located on the front of the hood?

SOURCE: Kitchen Hood Broan Nutone RM5200 Hood won't pull air.

There is definetly somthing blocking the air from escaping, either the duct is blocked or the installer did not remove the metal plate which opens the fan up for it to be able to evacuate.

SOURCE: My above the range Maytag Microwave oven plate

The spindle (called a turntable shaft) sits atop a small motor shaft from the turntable motor. You either have a weak turntable motor, stripped shaft (which allows the motor shaft to free spin when it has any weight on it), or both.

The turntable motor is located under the bottom panel of the microwave oven. You do not have to uninstall the oven for this repair.

First, unplug the unit, remove the glass carousel tray, and pull straight up on the turntable shaft to remove it. Next, locate and remove the series of screws along the bottom panel underneath the oven. The bottom panel will open exposing the drive motor. The motor comes out by disconnecting the connector plug and a couple of mounting screws.

If the model number you have this listed under is correct, you can view these parts at searspartsdirect.com. Locate items 11 (turntable motor) and 14 (shaft) under the "Cavity" heading. Other sites you may try are pcappliancerepair.com, appliancepartspros.com or repairclinic.com to see if you can find these parts any cheaper.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

Whirlpool accubake

follow this steps with VOM and fix it. God bless you
1. No power to the range hood
Make sure there's power getting to the range hood. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket (unless the hood is hard wired) for power with a voltmeter or by plugging something else in.

2. Fan switch
If your range hood only has a fan and no light or any other features, it won't start with a broken fan switch. Replace the switch if found defective.

3. Fan motor
If your range hood only has a fan and no light or any other features, it won't start with a broken fan motor. Replace the motor if found defective.

Water will not fill the dishwasher, it runs but it will not fill with water...is the water inlet plugged?

Hello there

The most common causes of this problem are a defective water inlet valve or a stuck float switch. The float switch sits under the dish racks and sends a shut-off signal to the dishwasher when the water level is high enough. Make sure you only use a Maytag-compatible replacement if you have to change out your dishwasher's float switch or water inlet valve.
Difficulty: Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need:

  • Owner's manual
  • Screwdriver
  • Scrub brush
  • Replacement parts (if necessary)

project at HomeDepot.com
  1. 1 Shut off power to the dishwasher from the home's circuit breaker box. Remove the lower rack from the inside of the dishwasher.
  2. 2 Check the water inlet valve to see if it clogged or broken. Replace the valve if you notice any problems and test the dishwasher again. If it still does not fill, proceed to Step Three to troubleshoot the float switch.
  3. 3 Consult your owner's manual to find the location of the float assembly. Remove the cover, if applicable to your dishwasher. There may be retaining screws holding the cover in place or it may just snap off.
  4. 4 Hold both sides of the float while you raise and lower it several times. The float should move freely without binding or catching on anything. Disconnect and use a scrub brush to clean the float if you feel any resistance.
  5. 5 Reattach the float and test its movement again. If it is still not moving properly, replace the float.
  6. 6 Replace the lower rack of the dishwasher and turn the breaker switch back on.

My Kitchen Hood is not working, I need to replace the switch but I cannot remove the cover. There are 3 screws when I took them out I still couldnot remove. Is there anything you can tell me as to how...

i just replaced the square switch myself. DO NOT UNSCREW THE PANEL. YOU CANNOT TAKE IT OFF ALL THEY WAY ANYWAY! Blue tape around the square switch, then take a thin scewdriver and work each side alternating and eventually the switch pops out. These are little plug in switches that just cost $10 but if a repairman has to do it, could cost you $300 - I know, I checked. What a waste of our money to spend almost $1000 on a piece of **** fan!!!

Fan switch not work - Viking 3048SS brand new range hood

There is the on off switch and the blower control that controls the speed of the fan. It is more than likley the blower control that would need replaced.

There could also be a wire disconnected in the hood.

Maytag dishwasher

Likely the float valve is deformed and no longer seated on its micro switch. Remove the bottom kick plate and look for a flimsy white spike seated on a micro switch but bent out of its proper position. The float looks like an upside down cup located near the front left corner of the inside of the dishwasher. The shaft of the float is a skinny 1/8 inch flexible piece of plastic. It deforms routinely under the light weight of the cup and the heat accumulating below the dishwasher. You can reseat the shaft on the micro switch for a temporary fix. For a permanent fix try re-enforcing the shaft with aluminum tape and a long sewing needle. Keep the retrofit very light weight to avoid over weighting the micro switch. A jammed water level sensor float can cause either no water (your situation) or water overflowing onto the floor. Usually the overflow water flows around the shaft of the float and pours our from underneath the kick plate

Fan Switch

You need to take the unit down to access the switchs. The unit should be mounted to the top of the cabinet by wood screws or nuts/bolts that you'll need to remove. Before starting any project having to do with appliances, always remember to turn off the power to that appliance by switching off the circuit breaker in your house panel. Once you have removed the screws, the unit will lower and you will see the cover that you'll need to remove and it will expose the switches. Goos luck
