well..iexplore.exe, which is what you are most likely referring to, is a system file, and should NOT be stopped. it is integrated into the windows IE interface, despite the contentions of MSoft.

Iexplore.exe should not be disabled, required for essential applications to work properly.

see also if it's the real one or just a virus masquerading as that file.

DATAMNGR COORDINATOR HAS ENCOUNTERED

Depending on which level of risk of the Pup.datamngr virus has infiltrated your PC, you might find it is hard to get rid of this sophisticated worm. Some people have successfully cleaned out the stubborn worm, but since one of the primary functions of this virus is to disable security programs,so the method of using anti-virus program is not always a foolproof approach.
Please follow these steps to get rid of Pup.datamngr virus manually:
Step 1: Press CTRL+ALT+DEL or CTRL+SHIFT+ESC. Open the Windows Task Manager.
If that didn't work, try another way. Press the Start button and click on the Run option. This will start the Run tool. Type in taskmgr and press OK. This should start the Windows Task Manager
Step 2: Within the Windows Task Manager click on the Processes tab. Find the process by name. random.exe. Then scroll the list to find required process. Select it with your mouse or keyboard and click on the End Process button. This will kill the process.
Step 3: Delete malicious registry entries.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\random
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer\run\random
Step 4: Remove malicious files of Pup.datamngr virus
C:\windows\system32\services.exe
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\Settings\{F34C9277-6577-4DFF-B2D7-7D58092F272F} (PUP.Datamngr)

I have lost ALL of my taskbars!! How do I get them back?

A program called explorer.exe controls the display of your taskbar and desktop icons. If for some reason it goes missing (you may have killed it using Task Manager, for example, or something more sinister like a virus has deleted it from your processes), then try this first:
  1. Open Task Manager (press Ctrl+Alt+Del, then click Task Manager).
  2. On the Applications tab, click New Task at the bottom right of the window.
  3. Type explorer.exe, then click OK.
If nothing sinister caused it to disappear, it should all come back as it was and you can stop panicking, breathe a sigh of relief, and continue working.
If that doesn't work, then try this:
  1. Open Task Manager (press Ctrl+Alt+Del, then click Task Manager).
  2. Go to the Processes tab.
  3. Click on the Image Name column header to sort the list alphabetically.
  4. Find all explorer.exe processes - select each, then click End Process for each one.
  5. On the Applications tab, click New Task at the bottom right of the window.
  6. Type explorer.exe, then click OK.
Are you using snagit, try to uninstall it and then check if you still get the errors. If you donot use snagit then there would be another error.

If you cant access control panel use the "Windows Key+R" on the keyboard which opens the run dialog and type in 'sysdm.cpl' which opens the control panel.
You could also try to restore you windows using System Restore and select a date of the backup when the computer was working well.

Make sure you do a complete virus scan with a good antivirus with updated virus definitions as it could be a virus too.

No Icons on Windows Vista

Sound like your explorer.exe process is crashing. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del and select Task Manager. Press the button to view processes from all users, and look for "explorer.exe". If it's there, select it and hit End Task and then move on to the next step. If it isn't then just do this: select File->New Task, and type in "explorer" without quotes in the new window that pops up. When you hit OK it should load up. If explorer appears in the Task Manager for a moment and then disappears then something is consistently causing it to crash. You will then need to boot from the install DVD and perform a repair. Once you can get back into Windows then immediately do a virus scan and a spyware scan. I recommend Avast Anti-Virus and Hitman Pro.
