Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

1 Answer

Green light comes on, but thats it. Black screen, no audio. Hear the disc spin but thats it.

We thought it was the av jacks because the cord itself was in bad shape. We went and bought a new cord and still the same problem. We can take the game out hear it spinning everything but nothing else is happening. We did have a red circle, havent seen it lately though.

I would reccomend checking both the TV's input jacks and the Xbox's output slot. If you got a new AV cable, then the odds that that cable are faulty are slim.

I found a microsoft troubleshooting Web Article that may help you solve your problem.

Re-post and tell me how it works out or if you need more help.

Hope this helped,

Make sure the plugs EXACTLY match the jacks on the TV. If you plug just the green cord into the TVs yellow jack, you will get black and white. If your tv has a combo jack (uses the green of a component input, make sure that the tv is on the right input (COMPONENT and not VIDEO).

let me know.

Green light is coming but no display

replace the video jack on the av cord , you can use one from a regular av cord, just splice the two wires inside and match the colors. the two small wires cannto touch inside you should use a yellow cors to make sure the two inside wires are the same as your playstaions yellow cord.

Even if it was a bad disc you should boot up to the home menu without problem. I would try replacing whatever type of AV cable you have running from your PS3 to your television. It could be once solid black cable with USB like ports on both ends (HDMI) or a cord with one end split into various colors (AV or Component) If replacing this cord doesn't help you may have a bad connection on one or multiple ports on your system/tv or it could be an internal problem.

When i turn on x box 360 the green center light appears but the four side lights to not ( no ring). I can open and close the disc on x box but nothing shows up on the tv.

Are your controllers connected to the xbox? that is how you get green light bars around your main green light bar. If you are not refuring to this and nuthing is showing up on your tv screen but you have sound try ajusting/ spinning around the yellow av cord ( Yellow cord is what projects pictures onto screen) . Hope it helped. =]

Either the AV cords are bad or the AV connection itself is bad. Try replacing the cords first. If this doesn't fix the problem, then you will need to contact Microsoft and ask about a repair order.

Audio but no video

Red ring is not the only problem with Microsoft Xbox 360. This amazing device also has some more common problems like Audio but no video problem, disc read error etc. Microsoft is providing extended warranty only for red ring problem. Means you will have to spend some money to get this problem repaired also if you plan to send your xbox to Microsoft, you will have to wait for 3-4 weeks to get back your favourite Xbox. There is one more option in the form of DIY guide, this guide explains solving No Video problem with step by step instruction, so any novice can fix this problem

It sounds to me like a problem within the 360s hardware itself. You could try sending it back to microsoft or like you said, going out and getting a new one.
