Ok this is the closest I have came to my model # I have a naxa NX-518 (not 517) and I cant find a universal remote control code for the dang thing. I have looked everywhere,, and noone seems to know how to help.. hopefully ya all can,, pleaseeeeeeeee. Thanks Whisperz
Need coads for naxa tv dvd combo for an rca remote
We had EXACTLY this same problem with our Naxa NX-518 combo TV-DVD. This WEIRD solution is what worked for us: My husband started to take the back of the TV off; took the four screws off, and as soon as he loosened the back, VOILA~! The TV came on! Magic! We think it might have something to do with pressure on top of the TV or something. Oh, and by the way...we know the reason you didn't mention the name of the universal remote...There is NO NAME listed on it, ANYWHERE! It's just a generic remote, and doesn't even list the name of "Naxa" on it. So, I guess they got both of us stumped. (We just can't use the remote -bummer.)
First off you didnt even say what type of universal remote you have. Second, I looked up every conceivable code in my data base and never heard of this model or make of tv. Im afraid to tell ya pal, that your gonna most likly have to go thru the auto programming mode and check each code till the set shuts off or contact the manufacturer in the owners manual to get an original remote. Sorry couldnt help ya more with this. Good Luck

its a RCA universal remote........ I have spent days trying the find yer code thing that came with the insert of the remote,, and it dosent shut off ,,,,,,,,,, the directions say the tv will shut off when the code is hit,,, well it dosent,, have clicked the off/on button a gazillion times and it does nothing. I have looked and looked as to where to purchase a new remote from the manufacture and have never heard back from them,, sp I am really at a loss as to what to do other than manually flipping the channels..which sucks cause its the tv in the bedroom,,, uggh

one week after my parents got me the naxa tv dvd the re mote just stopped working.ever since i have had to turn it on and off by hand.and turn channels by hand.i have had no luck at finding a remote control for it.can you help me out. Patricia Jones
