Question about Washing Machines

I am trying to get my washing machine to resume the cycle that I paused in order to add a piece of clothing. I must have pressed an extra button, because I am unable to cancel or resume the cycle...nothing is working!

It would be helpful if you listed at least a brand name even if you did not know the exact model number. Without that info, the best guess is that you pressed the child lock found on many machines. Generally, you have to push and hold the child lock for several (usually 3) seconds to set or release it.

Dear Sir/madam,

Whenever the washing machine at running you cannot cancel / pause at any time. It only finished washing and after next time only you wash other clothes. So better plug off for 30 min. and then you resume the washing machine. it will works

I pressed the pause button to add a garment to my Whirlpool frontload washer. After doing so, I pressed the hold to start button, but the washer would not restart the cycle.

Switch the power off from the power outlet for a few minutes , then switch on and reset the wash cycle . Front loaders are not designed to add clothes mid wash.

Pause error unit will not wash

Hello cvaughn37_cv - It means that the washer has been paused; the cycle has been interrupted. Either the "Pause/Cancel" button or "Start/Pause" button has been pressed. To resume wash - press "Pause/Cancel" or "Start/Pause" once. If this does not prove to be successful please turn the breaker to the unit off for 5 minutes. Then turn the breaker back on to the unit, and retry the cycle setting again.

"Pause" will not give way to the selected cycle

Turn off the machine then unplug it for at least 15 minutes and plug it back. Turn the washer on then press any button and wait for 5 seconds. Press and hold the START/PAUSE and CANCEL buttons simultaneously and the most recent error code will appear on the display as an "E" followed by two numbers, a number and a letter or two letters. The control will beep and the Door Lock, Wash, Rinse, and Final Spin indicator lights will flash. Post back the error code to determine the problem and necessary actions to be undertaken in order to address it. Include also the exact model number of the machine if the foregoing instructions don't seem to be applicable with your machine.

The inside of my washing machine smells

Regular cleaning maintenance is required to prevent odor build up inside the machine. The LG WM2688HWM has a TUB CLEAN feature, a special cycle for the cleaning of the inside of the washer. This cycle uses a high water level with higher spin speed.
  1. Remove any clothing or items from the washer and close the door.
  2. Open the dispenser drawer and add liquid chlorine bleach ONLY to the bleach compartment.
  3. Close the dispenser drawer slowly to prevent the bleach from spilling.
  4. Turn on the machine then press the EXTRA RINSE button for 3 seconds.
  5. Press the START/PAUSE button to start.
  6. Leave the door open to dry the washer door opening, door seal and door glass after the cycle is complete.

Rental...no manuel...first time using washer. pushed regular, large, cold, pause resume. When it finished filling with water it beeps 3x than stops for a couple minutes then beeps 3x etc. It is filled...

Your problem is with the pause/resume button. This button allows you to add/remove items before the cycle is complete. If you press this button and there is water in the machine it will beep for a period of time (3 mins) and then empty the machine automatically so you can open the door. After opening the door the cycle can be restarted again by pressing the pause/resume button again.

LG washer uses so little water, clothes aren't even damp and not clean

You will need to have a qualified LG technician come out and see what the problem is.  You may have a water level switch issue.
