Question about Fisher PC-6525 TV

1 Answer

Tons of resistors and ????

I bought six metal draw type storage boxes and they were loaded with all types of resistors and lots of stuff that looks like it goes with that kind of stuff. I would like to sell it but have no idea what it's worth or where to sell it. I live in Anaheim, CA and would love to get rid of it. My number is 714-739-0637. My guess is that the person who had all this stuff worked on tv's and stereos, but I am not sure. I would say that I have over 2000 pieces of various sizes and types. Any help????

There is a large resistor in the power supply that normally gets hot during operation. In time this resistor can fail. Look there first.

I recently had my deck stored in it's box for a few weeks after I had played a gig. When I opened it up some kind of brown liquid (presumably oil) had leaked out. The power switches on, but now the platter...

Brown liquid huh? A small amount may be a blown electrolytic capacitor. Take a look around for a component that's about the size of a pencil eraser and also brown. Or - just some wires where it used to be. This can happen in storage if temps are too high or low and it can just plain happen. If there's a LOT of brown stuff, then its probably external contamination. Can you run your finger across it and give a sniff - see oily stuff on your finger? In that case, you've got a serious clean up job ahead. Tons of contact cleaner and/or alcohol and lots of careful work are in your future. DO NOT power up anything until you've totally cleaned up everything - it will only get worse if you power it up and things can short out.

Im wanting to convert my 2002 V6 2.0 X type to lpg,but have been given lots of different stories regarding Valve seat recession.Anybody help?

You have been given false information, in old cars that were not designed to run on unleaded fuel then yes, but your car was designed to run specifically on unleaded fuel and will run just fine and even more emmisions free on LPG gas, the only draw back to LPG is the size and location of the fuel tank required to use LPG as your exclusive source of fuel. being that it is a car you will looses storage space in your trunk area and the oter draw back depending on where you live is availability of filling staations... but absolutely no internal engine concerns.

Where are blower resistor and relay located on 1995 Park Avenue?

For most common location, open hood and look near cowl for a plug near the air conditioning box just forward of the windshield wipers. It should have several wipers and the resistor itself protrudes downward into the box held in place with two screws. Screws have 7mm, 8mm, or 1/4 inch hex head.

If not: look near blower itself under the dash on the passenger side. The resistor should protrude upwards into the HVAC housing near the blower.

Add Memory In Compaq Deskpro 6000 P2 Shuttle PC?

No, it is in the actual box which contains the power button. You'll need to open that box and take a peek inside. You will see something similar (not exactly the same) to what is depicted in this picture. Now, in your particular instance one or two of the slots will be occupied by memory-sticks.

That is where your memory will be inserted to add extra RAM. Now we need to find out what type of memory you have right now, because we will need to match it. Download this utility and install it onto your computer. Afterward open up the area for system-memory (Or RAM) and determine what type of memory you have. Is it DDR, DDR2, or some other type? Once again, we will want to try to match the speed, type, and possibly even the brand to ensure the RAM will work with your system.

Once you have that information head online to this website. Once it loads navigate to Computer Hardware>Memory. On the left select, "Desktop Memory." Afterward use the, "Guided Search" to narrow your search to the type that is in your system, that way you're looking at memory types that your system supports aiding you ever so greatly in your choice.

Now just to clarify. This will increase the system-memory not storage-space. With storage-space I mean a hard-drive which contains all your files, personal data, and the Operating System in your computer. If you want more storage-space we will need to buy you a new hard-drive. This won't be as difficult, we just need to know if you have ATA or SATA. Most likely you have ATA since your computer appears to be oldler, so I would recommend a Seagate ATA hard-drive from this website. Once the website loads navigate to Computer Hardware>Hard Drives. Afterward, on the left under, "Hard Drives" select, "Internal Hard Drives." Afterward on the left under, "Guided Search" select the, "Interface" type, "IDE Ultra ATA100." Afterward make a pick on a hard-drive that has the storage space you're after. (The only seagate doesn't have a lot of space, so the ultimate decision is up to you.)

So get back to us with your choice along with the information on your RAM and hard-drive types and we'll let you know if you made a good decision.
