Question about Cambridge Soundworks Center/Surround IV Satellite Speaker

1 Answer

Is there any way to take these apart?

I feel like theres a loose connection inside my center speaker because at heavy bass sounds it glitches and can be fixed if tapped. The connection in the back is not the problem so I was wondering if there was a way I could open it and fix whatever is wrong

Is it a powered speaker? If not then if you know how to solder ,sure open her up and move around the wires while shes playing and see if you can duplicate the fault. If you dont know how to solder then take the unit in to be serviced as a loose connection inside a speaker can certainly blow out an amps output circuitry. Good Luck

Why are my headphones making a vibrating sound on the left side, when there is a lot of bass.

Each speaker works independently from each other. One speaker may use more low frequency tones than the other one.. Low frequency tones create a lot more noticeable vibration than higher frequency tones. You can reduce it by turning the volume down a little on the left speaker. It is possible that nuts came loose on the speaker.

My PS-8 subwoofer keeps loosing its signal and the bass turns on and off. I have to hit the side and it come back. Anyone have any idea WTF is going on?

Obviously there is a loose connection inside (no known issue) and if you feel qualified you can remove the amplifier from the cabinet and see if you can locate the problem.

Otherwise,

Got error 10 and dont know what to do

from REalMacoi your problem seems to be related with the AdaptIQ failing to do an active equalisation. HAve you connected the AdaptIq sense headphones on the AUX (left and right coz it will still fail if only one cable is connected) Also make sure tha the sense headphone cable is in the correct color orientation and none is connected to the black jack just below the red one. Try this procedure and if the system still shows error 10 do the following in sequence...

1. Turn off the media center via the"ALL OFF" button in the tray (no DVD disc inside the tray)
2. Turn off the bass module by the power switch underneath the bass module (certain versions may not apply)
3. Unplug the power adaptor of the media center and remove the power adaptor connection from the wall socket.
4. Unplug the bass module (if this has not yet been done
5. Disconnect all speaker wires (satellite speakers I mean)
6. Disconnet the data cable linking the bass module and the media center
7. Allow 10seconds to pass
After 10seconds then connect the following again in this sequence

1. Connect the media center and the bass module data cable first
2. Connect the satellite speaker cables.
3. Connect the media center adaptor (DO NOT TURN ON YET!)
4. Lastly connect the bass module power cable (DO NOT TURN ON YET!)

Once verything is connected, press power "ON" button o nthe RF remote and the media center should turn on. Only the you should switch the bass module power "ON" so that a fresh handshake is achieved.

This ERROR 10 occurs when either the ADAPTIQ process is interrrupted, the data calbe link between the bass module and the media center is loose or when the power connection is interrupted.

If all still fails, then there is a problem with the DSP board of the bass module and would require servicing.

I do hope I was able to help you

I have a Samsung HT-510 Center Speaker that has no sound. I was going to take it apart to see if there may be something loose inside. I took the 12 screws out of the back, but still cannot seem to get...

It takes a bit of force, but be careful. the back terminals are connected to the speakers by rather short lengths of wire. The other probable causes are that:
The amplifier's center channel has failed

The wire is shorted or frayed, or defected in some other way.

The speakers are broken. If this is the case, any speaker of 170 watts or lower will work, but it MUST be of 3 ohms impedance.

My blaupunkt rear right speaker just stopped giving out any sound ..it started with a tearing sound at high volumes with bass intensive songs. then next day no sound at all. left speaker works fine. Help...

As shown in the picture double check the vibration flexible wire connecting to the center, you cannot see it on your naked eyes, use tester to prove the connection, use soldering iron to reattached the broken circuit, be responsible for the connection, put in mind that it is vibrating too heavy...

Bass sound coming out whenever i move the right speaker

seems like one of the wires is loose either inside the speaker or in the cable leading to it.
best chance is to open up the right speaker ( involvs damage to the plastic , since atp3 speakers are glued and practically unopenable with out breaking)
and then trying to play with the wires `till you find the sourse of the problem.
as soon as you know where the probles is , i`m sure its gonna be easy to fix, again , the hard part is to take this speaker apart.
good luck

Speakers not working

The black/green/orange connectors go into the corresponding color ports in the back of the computer, but you computer have to be able to support 7.1 or at least 5.1 audio. If it can't you can buy a separate sound card from Creative that does.

Is there any way to take these apart?

If there are no screws evident on the rear of the unit carefully remove the grill on the front. Usually they are just lightly glued on. Most quality speaker enclosures open from the front and the speaker can be taken out for access to the wiring inside. If you cannot find any way in from the front look for some sort of plug or cover over screws. This could be on the back or under the grill. Sometimes they are covered with plastic covers which match the surface. If you do not have access any of these ways this could be a sealed unit which is not made to take apart. Good luck.
