Question about Honeywell Programmable Thermostat Heater

1 Answer

Blinking symbol There is a blinking symbol. I think it said filter below it and now it doesn't say filter but is still blinking. I bought a new filter and was going to put it in but the one that was in the furnace was brand new and I have not have the air or furnace on for at least two months. I can get the outside cover off but can't get the rest off to see if the batteries need changing. Thanks for your help.

Look for a reset selection on the thermostat. The Filter warning is probably programmed to come up on 90 day intervals.

Air conditioning not working. Have White-Rodgers thermostat 1F79111, I think. Replaced batteries. Now have flashing signal like an asterisk. What does it mean?

Blinking snowflake means it's on time delay for cooling to come on (usually 5 minute time delay to prevent compressor short cycling). Solid snowflake means cooling is on

My thermostat shows like a wifi symbol and I can't find in the user guide what means. Any help, please?

I think your assumption that the problem is related to temperature isn't well supported. Most electronics are quite happy with temperatures far below freezing, and it doesn't make sense for it to be programmed to disconnect below a certain temperature. I think the question you should be asking is "Why does my thermostat stop talking to my router?" It's possible that the problem has nothing to do with the thermostat, but with the router. I'd wager that when you turn the thermostat off... it turns off... in which case it stops doing much of anything, including communicating with the router. Maybe u aren't aware but its a WiFi thermostat be more specific please

Snowflake symbol and filter message

That symbol usually means that the a/c unit inside the house has frozen over and it won't start working again until after the ice has melted. I would recommend hiring a repair guy for it though. I had this problem and even after it melted the a/c would still go wonky from time to time. There's a part that you might need replaced on the outside unit.

The unit keeps flashing

By unit, do you mean the thermostat? And if so, do you mean the whole face is flashing, or just a heat or cool symbol? And if your talking about the heating/cooling unit, are you talking about a flash on the board?
A thermostat face that is flashing is usually batteries.
A symbol that is flashing on a thermostat indicates a call and is in a delay. There will be a 5 minute delay on calls if the call has been short cycled, powered off and on, etc.
If the symbol continues to flash for an extended amount of time, then the problem is in the furnace, air handler, etc.
If the system is working, but flashing, then it could be the programming of the thermostat.

CYCLES ON AND OFF EVERY 3 MINUTES NEW THERMOSTAT

Look at the bottom door on your furnace, and find the small lens.Watch the red light blinking, and count tthe blinks. It is probably a dirty flame sensor. Shut power off ,pull flame sensor out, and clean it with a "dollar bill", and reinstall it.If you are smart enough to pull the doors off your unit, the bottom door has a section on it telling you diagnosis light solutions.
