solution to 'usb device not recognised/malfuction' posted on 'it reviews' by paul, solution sent to customer by philips customer service;

* If the mp3-player is not detected by the PC,
Download the following Patch (Gogear Detect Tool): either click on the link
or copy the link into your internet browser.

http://www2.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbi... Philips GoGear Device_v3.zip
Save it (desktop), unpack it and run the program, just follow the steps.

worked for me, allows use of wmp also, but the player is still shit, and won't work properly.

what is the operating system of your pc? the sansa players have 2 usb modes. mtp and msc. the player is in mtp by default. mtp is only supported in windows xp with the latest update. try to change the usb mode of your player to msc. msc works in most os.

try running a search in my computer. If this dosn't work it might be that the cable is faulty and in that case it is worth sending it back to san disk. if a little bubble pops up in the bottom right corner saying this device can perform faster, click on the icon and then go on to the 2nd tab and on there it should say install drivers. click on this and then insert the c.d and reinstall the drivers.

hope this helps.
