Most of the screen is out of focus but the corners are the worst. The top of the screen is the shadow makes a U shape while at the the bottom it makes a reverse U. Not good. Happens about four to five minutes after turning set on. Help please!!

Replace or resolder your convergance IC's. What is a common problem is over time the heat emitted by the chips weakens the solder joints on the circuit board. If your lucky just a resolder job is all it needs.
Hi Thanks for using FixYa. First of all please check whether all the cables from your dish network are fine and connected firmly. If yes then you'll need to pull off the front of the TV, behind the speaker grill there would be a panel. Remove the panel and check for a black box hanging over there. It has 6 controls on it, 3 are marked as focus and 3 as screen. You'll need to adjust the screen. If you turn these too high you can damage the tube. So you need to do only a small adjustment. Turn the color off on the TV and adjust the red, blue & green controls up till you get a fine picture. Also adjust the focus until you get a clear picture. And, if it doesn't resolve your issue then it is an intermittent blue picture tube, a bad blue driver transistor on the CRT board, a bad connection on the blue CRT board or a problem in the RGB coming from the video jungle IC.The price to resolve the issue will most likely run you about 300 to 500 bucks, unless it is the picture tube. Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance. Thanks Rylee
Chances are that the convergence amps are bad. If those are mounted on a separate board, replacing the board would be the easiest thing to do. Running the magic focus or touching up the convergence in the customer menu may be required.
You have a convergence problem
If the set has auto focus and will not complete its cycle.
The Auto focus module is bad, (expensive)
If it completes and the problem is still there.
Then check for bad conv. drivers (stk****) or cold solder joint on one or more of the 3 drivers pins.
The blue picture tube of a projection tv is usually the weakest in ability to focus and in
most cases loses its focus ablility before the red and green. Connect a cross-hatch generator to the rf inputs of the unit and check to see which areas
are most out of convergence. The corners are usually the worst. HD will always bring out the slightest imperfections. If the unit was totally out of convergence, I would have suggested replacing the convergence IC'S.In my experience with rear projection, your problem is normal wear . You could conceivably improve the picture by adjusting the blue focus on the screen focus block. Scrivitron
OUR TOSHIBA HAS A DOUBLE VISION/BLURRIE PICTURE. THIS PROBLEM IS ALWAYS THERE. SOMETIMES THE PICTURE IS GREAT, BUT MOST OF THE TIME
ITS BLURRIE/DOUBLE. LOOKS AS IF IT ALWAYS ON 3D!! ANY SUGGESTIONS?
WE WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE ANY HELP WE CAN GET FROM ANYONE.
