Question about Directv Plus DVR DTV Receiver / 100-Hours Video Recorder

1 Answer

Lost power for one second and now cannot get my caller ID to work

The power outage or surge did not affect anything else but the callerID on the DVR .phones in the rest of the house all still get the caller ID on them and the TV in another room that has a caller ID receiver gets the caller ID on it. We tried shutting down and unplugging the unit but nothing has worked so far. Has that part of the receiver been fried and will we get messages since that is on the same menu as the caller ID.

Unplug the telephone cable from the back of the receiver and plug it a basic telephone to check if there is a dial tone. if there is a dial tone restart the receiver without the the telephone line plugged in. after it loads and u have a picture, plug in the telephone line. call the home to check. if its not working the modem in the receiver has gone bad.

It is likely the device was damaged by the power surge when power was restored, this is for sure if it was connected to surge protector. Most power suppliers will pay for damage from this type of power outage. Contact them and ask.

To whom it may concern,

You're likely either experiencing overheating or power cycling.
Put the receiver into a well circulated area, and let it cool down. If this does not alleviate your problem you will need a replacement box. Be sure to set up insurance for your account before you ask for a new box to be sent.

How do i set up my tv to diplay whos calling on the phone

The caller ID on screen feature is only able to work with certain Comcast set top boxes. Post a picture of your box and I will tell you if its platform is able to display caller ID. The other scenario is that you have the correct box but the billing code was not placed on that box in the system. The billing code is actually free however does have to be registered to the outlet that box is setting on in the billing system.

Had a power outage and now my TV is not showing any pictures except for the blue screenn

Outage may have changed the input channel on TV so make sure you're on the right one. Press and hold the Power button on cable box. Let that restart. Unplug the router for 10 seconds and let it boot up.

Help with caller ID history on Dish Network

You DO have to have caller ID service with your phone company for this to work. If you don't, it won't. If you do have it, you need to go into the menu and activate the receiver to use the caller ID. If your problem is something else, you need to elaborate.

My 2005 Phillips 27 in TV will not come back on after a power outage....

A power surge may well have blown your fuse. Check the fuse in the plug first. If you can't check it, just swap it with a known good one. If that doesn't do anything, then it's possible there may be a blown fuse on the TV's power board. If you don't know what you're doing, don't take the TV apart; there are high voltages stored in capacitors, even when disconnected from the mains.

On screen caller id failure

common problem on 625 receiver. Have you hit menu 6-1-2 to enable caller id? If so call Dish and have them send you a new receiver out and give it a try. I'm sure it won't work every time, but it has to be better than what you have.

Power outages cause receiver to lose unit ID numbers.

When the backup battery goes dead you loose the ID number.
If you have lost your receiver ID number you will need a new main board.
Check the receiver number in the status screen. If it matches the UA number on the back sticker you are ok, if not the only solution is replacing the main board. still had some boards when I last checked. But when they run out were all screwed.
Motorola didn't make any provisions for renewing the ID number.
That really sucks motorola ;-(

Caller ID function does not work.

Turn off your computer off and temporarily remove the DSL filter to see if the Caller ID then works. If that makes no difference you will need to contact the dish company.
